I still think that Chavis should still be on the top of the list. he had very good defenses at UT even when their offenses sucked.
i really like bud foster from VT but like pelini he's biding his time till he's a head coach, could happen this off season. plus at this point VT to LSU is a lateral move. but i think he'd be a great fit here. i'd hire his clone.
yeah i know, but would love a guy like him. i wouldn't be surprised if VT tries to string him along as a successor to beamer like muschamp to mack brown.
The chance to coach in the mighty SEC is a move up. VTech to LSU is lateral enough not to be able to argue it any other way. But he loves it there, they love him there. It's a great marriage.
To you and me it's arguably a move up. To Bud Foster, it's a demotion. He's more than well paid. He is as revered in Blackburg as Frank Beamer. He has nothing to gain unless he has hidden ambitions greater than the contentment he has shown the last decade at VaTech as Vice-Head Coach of the Hokies. We'd have better luck persuading Bill Bilechick to quit the Pats and come be the DC at LSU...
