He is one of the few assistants I would consider for a promotion to LSU DC. 41 year old LB coach at USC since 2004. He has coached Tatupu, Rivers, Cushing and Maualuga. He did turn down the assistant coaching position at UCLA, his alma mater, last season. Would he come to LSU as a DC? Talk about opening up Cali in recruiting? And we would turn into Linebacker U.
Nice!!! Norton might be a really good one, if we could get him. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Hmm... I think that's a stretch, but I wouldn't mind him being here. He was a huckuva LB for the 49ers.
If he didnt leave for UCLA I dont see why he would for LSU? Lets be honest he has it all at USC and is probaly waiting his turn there. Plus LSU has looked horrible this year and is losing a lot of starters to make it worse.
I'm not sure I buy that. In 2006, USC could have easily chosen Norton as their DC, instead they went outside and chose Nick Holt, head coach of Idaho and prior LB coach before Norton got there. Holt isn't going anywhere soon. He's already failed miserably at Idaho with a combined 5-18 record. I am perplexed as to why he didn't take the gig at UCLA, his alma mater.
Good point about Holt. Not sure why he wouldnt go to UCLA. Anyways, I dont see him coming to LSU. First off we dont know what Miles will do. If he will actually fire both guys. Or demote one and keep the other as a single DC.
Offer him up a ton of money. No way he is making big bones as the LB position coach. Offer him 750K. Money talks, and it needs to in this case.
What about BC's Spaziani? I saw this on Wikipedia (not that I consider it an end all of end alls) Cutting edge, maybe? Apparently a fan favorite. He's been the DC for 9 years and prior to that was the running back coach. What a transition, eh? Don't know much about him though... BC is tanked #4 in total defense, #7 in rush defense and #17 in pass defense in the nation this year.
Definitely He's one of my top choices now.I like his intensity as well and their LBs always play good.
