He was DC at Texas in 2004. We get a lot of recruits from there.

Note that Mack Brown hired him as his DC directly out of the NFL, that was even a more strange choice when it come to connections to Longhorn recruiting: at that point he had been an NFL coach for 13 years in New York City, Kansas City, and Denver.

He was "co-DC" at Texas for one season and stayed in Austin less than a full year never setting foot in a recruits house.

As a Chiefs fan, I will be PISSED if Miles chooses Robinson.

I just have a hunch that this will be the guy. Miles seems hell-bent on goofing up this whole DC thing again. It's starting to seem more and more likely that he'll pick the worst candidate conceivable.

I hope I'm wrong, but GR seems just questionable enough to be a sure thing.

I felt I needed to reiterate the fact that he did nothing with the Chiefs.

What are your thoughts about him?

until google, er I mean John posted those pics of him, I was thinking of a completely different guy (wasn't it a Robinson feller that coached the Rams and USC for a while?)

I know very little about this guy other than what has been posted here.
I'm just waiting for a hire to be made, then I'll check out what that guy has to offer.

    1) Mack Brown hired him, same guy that hired a great DC away from LSU, Carl Reese, and two great DCs away from Auburn, Will Muschamp and Gene Chizik.

    2) He did a good job while he was DC at Texas

    Texas 2008 (Muschamp) -- #20 Scoring D (18.6 ppg), #50 Total D (339.9 ypg)
    Texas 2007 (Duane Akina) -- #45 Scoring D (25.3 ppg), #52 Total D (371.2 ypg)
    Texas 2006 (Gene Chizik) -- #24 Scoring D (18.3 ppg), #24 Total D (298.3 ypg)
    Texas 2005 (Gene Chizik) -- #8 Scoring D (16.4 ppg), #10 Total D (302.9 ypg)
    Texas 2004 (Robinson) - #19 Scoring D (17.9 ppg), #23 Total D (320.1 ypg)
    Texas 2003 (Reese) - #32 Scoring D (21.5 ppg), #25 Total D (329.9 ypg)
    Texas 2002 (Reese) - #8 Scoring D (16.3 ppg), #16 Total D (307.7 ypg)
    Texas 2001 (Reees) - #3 Scoring D (13.7 ppg), #1 Total D (236.2 ypg)
    Texas 2000 (Reese) - #11 Scoring D (17.9 ppg), #7 Total D (278.3 ypg)
    Texas 1999 (Reese) - #30 Scoring D (20.6 ppg), #6 Total D (286.7 ypg)
    Texas 1998 (Reese) - ???

    Note:

Duane Akina was Texas' Assistant Head Coach/DBs from 2004-2006, he became Defensive Coordinator/DBs in 2007, did a poor job, in 2008 went back to Assistant Head Coach/DBs, where he serves currently for TX

Gene Chizik left Texas to become the head coach at Iowa State, he just finished his second season there (Iowa State was 3-9 his first year, 2-10 his second year)

Greg Robinson left Texas to become the head coach at Syracuse.

Carl Reese -- I assume he retired. He is 65 now.
