I think a big reason Miles stuck with those two guys has to do with human nature. If you have just won the BCS championship your natural tendency is not to want to change anything. He kept them hoping to have the same dominant defense that Pelini won with, but it didn't work out.
:geaux: I'll agree with you here, however, I'm not so sure TC was too far off from something as to why some players may have "quit" late in the season. I've always felt there was an undertone during the season that maybe Perriloux's dismissal may have affected some players more than others. Was there a group of players on the team who really resented RP's dismissal to the extreme? I don't know for sure, but it wouldn't surpise me. I don't have anything solid to base this on, just thinking back on how the season went and the team played and reacted to things. Was this related to Byrd's problems this year? I had heard he an RP were pretty tight. Again, I don't base anything on solid fact, it's just a feeling I've had ever since RP was kicked off that there could be some problems as a result. I'm still glad he was shown the door, but it would be a sad day IF some players decided to react in the wrong manner because of it. Just sayin... :LSU231:
Charles Scott in a Rivals interview: This is complete BS as related to race. And the team as a whole breathed a sigh of relief that RP was gone. I have spoken to Charles myself about this subject and can confirm this statement is not window dressing. As to Byrd, if his issue was race related, then he is as big a moron as he is a sandbagger.
:insane::insane: its pretty funny you concluded this all on your own. its also possible you could win the pulitzer for this insight as well. oh yes he was. you dudes need to get over the paranoia from the white guilt-trip. save it for when the actual race card is played.
I wish someone would make a case for why I need a big chunk of dough from Paulson. Come on, it's Christmas.
Thats true, but I'm not trying to make that case, just pointing out that usually the oldest QB has started, regardless of race. Its worked out pretty well so far.
:geaux: I'm not on any kind of guilt trip. TC just brought up a point to ponder. I'm just sayin' some guys on the team appeared to tank it and quit this year for whatever reason. I also didn't say that race or RP was the cause of anything for sure. I'm just saying that in my opinion, something seemed to be amiss with the team this year as far as attitude, etc and that the RP thing could have been a factor. Could also have been just a lack of senior/player leadership that let some bad attitudes fester and cause problems. In any case, a lot of guys on the team didn't play up to the level they did last year or up to their potential in any case. :LSU231:
Hatch is our oldest QB (Hatch is 22, Lee is 19, JJ is 18). As I've argued strongly in other threads, I wouldn't mind Hatch being our starter. Hatch broke his leg five games ago, and he still hasn't returned to practice, not even this week.
