I just heard that and panicked because I remember his first season here. We had to outscore everyone at the last minute. I remember one of those years we lost to R Kansas in double overtime. I believe that was the year we won the NC with 2 losses.I know Bo had some good years here but I hope Coach O finds someone else. There are a lot of good candidates out there.
um we had the #3 scoring d in the country that year only giving up 14 per game. only twice have we allowed fewer since then. ‘06 (which was also Bo) and 2011.
All the different coordinators sort of run together, getting old. I don't have bad memories of pelini at LSU. But what a mess at Nebraska... The college game has changed, hope he has evolved if he is the guy. I'd like to get someone that wants to stay with Coach O for a while.
I know this, Coach O isn't perfect. But when he makes a mistake, he fixes it. So he has earned my respect on coaching hires. I assume Coach O and staff is heading the search and Woodward makes it happen. I really remember being upset at Pelini leaving in 2007, so that has to be at least good. I don't think we were happy to see him go.
I have bad memories of 2007 Kentucky and Arkansas, but we only gave up 27 and 28 in regulation, respectively. They stand out because of how good we were on defense in every other game. I don't know, the idea is growing on me a bit.
