I just can't get over this, why? It's like getting divorced and then marrying the same girl a few years later. I expected more out of Woodard
I’m not sure how Pelini would adjust to the style of today’s game, but for what it’s worth, LSU rank in total defense: 2005 - 3rd 2006 - 3rd 2007 - 3rd 2008 - 37th (his 1st year removed) We’ve only had a defense rank higher than 3rd once since then and that was the 2011 year where we ranked 2nd. That defense ranked 2nd gave up 265 ypg and Pelini’s best year at LSU we ranked 3rd but only gave up 242 ypg. When Pelini took over at Nebraska their defense was ranked 113th in total defense giving up 476 ypg and by his 2nd year they finished as the 7th ranked team in total defense giving up only 271 ypg. Also, I saw this the other day: LSU total defense since Aranda took over: 2016 - 5th 2017- 12th 2018 - 30th 2019 - 32nd Not taking a shot at Aranda, just putting up a comparison. I don’t know that we’re actually hiring Pelini and if we do, I don’t know how to feel about it yet, but none the less I thought those numbers were interesting.
We did well with coahes who got second chances i.e. O and E. On the surface Pelini doesn't sound like a good hire to me. O must see something. He hired Jim Gregg and Brady hope he keeps the streak of good hires going. BTW saw Aranda's presser today and he took some back handed swipes at LSU. He's a dick good riddance.
I would be ok with giving bo another shot. He probably would be here at least 4 years assuming he keeps up the d.
