To be honest, I wasn't really 'wowed' by his video clips. He made some nice throws, but the ball doesn't seem to be travelling that fast. On quite a few of them I feel like were he not playing a poor H.S. defense, they would have been batted down or picked off. Of course, one has to consider the talent that he's throwing the ball to.

The guy has good size and athleticsm and his arms appears to be average at worst. Someone sees something in him. I guess of he doesn't pan out at QB, he can bulk up and play TE.

I might bet bashed for this but I think the biggest reason we picked him up was so we would have more than two scholarship QBs on the roster next year. There really is no other reason to get a QB this year. We got Lee last year and we are pretty much guarenteed a good QB next year.

We aren't guaranteed of anything next year. We needed at least 1 QB in this class. Lee may or may not develop into a great player & anybody we get next year will only have one year before RP graduates.

DC isn't a great QB right now - he's raw, but he has ability.

trust me fellas, fat qb's have almost a 100% success rate in the sec. we are set.

wait til crowton has him running out of the pistol formation. this will be a thing of beauty.

We could have waited untill next year to get a QB Better to space them out every couple of years if it's somebody we are not really sold on. We would have been fine with RP and Jarret Lee along with that guy that transferred in from Princeton for next year and could have waited to pick up a QB next year that we are really high on. (however maybe the coaching staff sees something they really like in DC) It wasn't like we really had to sign a QB this class.

The issue isn't when RP and Lee are the two main guys. When RP leaves, there is no experienced depth behind Lee, presumably playing as a redshirt junior. This was the year LSU needed a QB for desired depth it's just happens to be next year when LSU figures to nab a highly touted QB prospect (Karam or someone else).

Bro, there is much more to consider than this....we seem to quickly forget RP was almost done with college football just 2 months ago. Also, what if RP or JL wind up injured next season?? DC was a great pick up in this class. Great for our depth yet wont deter a highly touted recruit from coming here next season.

Also, as mentioned...DC is raw and is playing with a poor WR corps. No telling, he has the look of a Herb Tyler.

Also, I have friends that coach HS football in central FLA and have heard nothing but good thinks about this kid. And this was before he switch commitment from Rutgers to LSU as they wouldnt have told me these things had they known he was gonna be a Tiger. I tend to talk a little Tiger smack sometimes.

Herb Tyler? Think Mackey would have the look of him and has the talent to be better than him and is taller than him.

IMO DC could be a comparison to the other Florida QB we had Rohan Davey

But we don't have a Mackey that is a commit to LSU do we??

Im not saying DC looks like the HT that left LSU. What I'm saying is he has the same look as Tyler, his playing style and body type is similar to that of Tylers coming out of HS. IMO, DC looks better in film than Tyler did coming out of HS. Tyler wasn't Tyler coming out of HS either.
