DC's listed for 40 time (on both Scout & Rivals) is pretty horrible. I haven't seen any video that showed him being a particularly effective runner either.

Rivals isn't very good with their classification of Pro-style and dual-threat QBs.

yeah, this kid does not strike me as being a runner in the mold of a Matt Flynn or a Ryan Perrilloux. He strikes me as being more like Jamarcus in his running ability. I.e., he can move when he wants to, but he's not going to be running the option.

I hope this kid doesn't end up a JUCO guy. We really need someone in THIS CLASS who will be a quarterback. I see a lot of people, especially on TigerDroppings, who are wondering why we're even recruiting a QB with RP and JL on board. I hope that people reading this board don't need explanations for it, but I'll give one anyway.

First, I think it's a given that you need a MINIMUM of 3 scholarship-calibre quarterbacks on the roster at all times. Otherwise you are just too vulnerable to injuries. Second, there is absolutely no guarantee that Jarrett Lee will develop into a starting-calibre quarterback. Lee will be a junior when RP graduates, and we will have no other scholarship pure QB on the roster except for a redshirt freshman or two. If our QB-play is deficient at that time, it will SERIOUSLY impact the play on the field. See the 2004 season as an example of what could happen if Jarrett Lee doesn't develop and we don't have a backup plan available.

I hope it doesnt hurt our chances with Russell Shepard next year though heard we are very high on his list.

I really don't see Jefferson scaring off other recruits. He isn't highly regarded enough for that. Neither if Jarrett Lee for that matter. Let me put it this way. Matthew Stafford wasn't scared off by the presence of Joe Cox on the Georgia roster. Sheppard won't be scared off by Jefferson.

Know a guy who coaches in Lakeland/Winter Haven. Said he wishes he had this kid and his numbers would be great if his WR corps didnt suc. Also, he should qualify.
