I'm not necessarily talking about a 'company that pays billions in taxes getting a tax break'. I'm talking about companies that let the US invest in them when the shit hits the fan and then when they are posting record profits, they keep their money in the Caymans or Swiss Bank accounts so they don't have to pay taxes here.

Question for you: how many $2,000 "handouts" do you think it would take to equal $2 trillion (the cost of the Iraq war)?

Question for you: who all voted for the war?

I can tell you Bush was not alone.

"The resolution backed by Reid, Biden, Clinton, Kerry and other Democratic Senate leaders also claimed that "the risk that the current Iraqi regime will either employ those weapons to launch a surprise attack against the United States ... or provide them to international terrorists who would do so … combine to justify action by the United States to defend itself."

"There is no reason to be any more forgiving of Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, or Harry Reid than we are of George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, or Condoleezza Rice."

"If the decision to invade Afghanistan helps to make Bush the worst president, then Democrats cannot claim the moral high ground whatsoever. The Authorization for Use of Military Force, which permitted the invasion of Afghanistan, passed in the House 420-1 (and 10 abstentions); it passed in the Senate 98-0 (and 2 abstentions). Most Bush critics, however, reserve their deepest anger for the Iraq War."

My brother, your instant reaction is to make something partisan. I haven't said a Goddamn thing about President Bush (or any President for that matter).

I'm not talking about Presidents or administrations. I'm talking about hypocrites.

    Answer my question.

I understand, but my whole point is that people who are so upset about welfare are not at all upset about the things that cost about 1 billion times more than welfare.

I'm not talking Bush or Obama. I'm talking about the hypocrites (that I live among) that are upset about all the wrong things.

If you are upset about welfare recipients, you should be OUTRAGED by war and banks and oil companies, etc.

Just think about this. What if instead of spending a trillion a year on welfare and cut out aid to countries that burn our flag and hate us? Then lower taxes by that amount across the board. Divvy up that 1.3+ trillion a year equally and give it back to all the taxpayers.

please expound on this "vital" role that you speak of......I've never said they were perfect either, but our fiscal problems were entrenched long before Obama took office.

Have any of you guys, gals, ever been on unemployment? That's the only form of assistance I've ever gotten and I was on it for a month. All it did was light a bigger fire under my ass because it wasn't shit. Unemployment and getting laid off of course are the main reasons my hat hangs in the DFW now. But as soon as I can find good work back in Alexandria, back home I go.
