They weren’t tired when they folded in those starting drives I mentioned.

I understand. Although there were undoubtedly times when the defense "folded" in previous years. My point on TOP was not so much that the defense would be more tired from being on the field longer, as that, given extra time, you would expect opponents to score more. If you gave the Little Sisters of Charity infinite amount of time on offense, at some point, they would score.... more opportunity to score results in more scoring.

Again, I am concerned about the defense, just not as much as I was before I considered the extra time the defense has been on the field, compounded by the injuries to key personnel. But, Arranda has ben quoted as saying he has not yet found this year's defense's personality.

    Chicken Littles in here ...
Got a taste of the Future in Saints offensive style football and it’s put the wham on your
Brains so you Gotta be panicking about the Defense now worrying about injuries, depth and missed tackles in the early season before serious SEC play ... You guys kill me

Have a little faith that we’re in great shape on the injury front (Divinity back for FLA) except Terrace Marshall misses FLA game and likely back for Auburn ... The depth is there at LB and DL after Lawrence and Logan are back ... The DBs are fine just learning to play as a young team and can be coached into a fearsome unit worthy of their hype ... Sit back and enjoy the games as the Interception Drought has ended ...

    D~R~O~U~G~H~T
    O~V~E~R

Cue in some “program music” or something while watching reruns of Stingley & Stevens picks ...

Remember ... Vandy Offense only scored 24 and there were 7 series with three and outs

Oeaux, by the way, we cudda hung 80 on them or even more ...

You Littles in here can’t see what’s coming in the Florida game ... Even without Marshall (back for AU and definitely Bama) we rout Florida with a vicious nasty defense waiting for newbie Trask ... Who
    T~H~R~E~W ... T~W~O ... P~I~C~K~S ... A~G~A~I~N~S~T ... T~E~N~N~E~S~S~E~E

Haven’t you all noticed ... Everyone is going or trying to go to a 50/50 Pass Run Attack ...

Except Auburn ... Gus is too under the bus with 66% run 33% Pass

Florida tried it on a hapless Tenn secondary ... Two picks lol

As critical as I’ve been, I think we saw improvement vs Vandy. I think we kind of let up once we got a huge lead. I also am pretty optimistic about Aranda having time to get things right. Also getting players back should help.

All that said, I think criticism is warranted. Aranda makes a boatload to deliver a top defense. I don’t want to piss away a good offense because suddenly our savant coach can’t get it done.

As long as there is no "Idiot" in front of Savant, I think we'll be OK.

    You’re right ...
You and all the other littles predicting doom and gloom for this LSU team ... Criticizing Aranda with youth and injury evident in early season games ...

YOU HAVE “LITTLE” FAITH TO MATCH YOUR “LITTLE” FB knowledge ...

And you tell me to cram it ...

You have a nice day and smile at people cuz LSU is #1 and folks don’t see what’s coming, Even Vegas ... I’ll keep cashing in on my weekly locks when LSU plays ... Giving the points vs Utah State, FLA, MSU and Auburn

    I’m on record for predicting 15-0 ...

What was your pick? 10 games and a bowl

Bandwagon has port-o-lets too ... Lotsa space for Littles

It's simple, Miles lost the culture at LSU of confidence and coaching up players. We didn't see players improving like we previously did. We watched LSU lose it's swagger and confidence over time. Not to mention a clear downgrade in recruiting along, especially the OL and DL.

Coach O has finally instilled that culture of confidence once again. He has also instilled a culture of coaching players up. The OL is mediocre at run blocking, but GREAT at pass blocking. We don't see the constant bone headed penalties we were plagued with in recent years.

LSU football is back in many senses, but can we beat Bama or Clemson? We may pull out a big win, but we do need to improve LOS play on both sides. Depth is needed. So yes, a rebuild of sorts, but not in the sense of a total rebuild. I have no doubt Coach O has us going in the right direction.
