I think he has 5 picks so far and 2 for TDs.

I was so damn excited when I heard we signed him and let Bloody Bullocks go.

We went from a liability to the best playmaker in the NFL at free safety.

If he does he will break the NFL for the most interceptions.

I think he just climbed into the top 10 all time with those 2 picks.

Here is the list BEFORE the start of the 2009 season.

I am almost certain Sharper came in with 53 ints to start the season.

    1. Paul Krause - 81
    2. Emlen Tunnell - 79
    3. Rod Woodson - 71
    4. Dick Lane - 68
    5. Ken Riley - 65
    6. Ronnie Lott - 63
    7. Dave Brown - 62
    8. Dick LeBeau - 62
    9. Darren Sharper - 59
    10. Emmitt Thomas - 58
    11. Mel Blount - 57
    11. Bobby Boyd - 57
    11. Johnny Robinson - 57
    11. Everson Walls - 57
    11. Eugene Robinson - 57
    16. Lem Barney - 56
    16. Pat Fischer - 56
    18. Aneas Williams - 55
    19. Darrell Green - 54
    19. Willie Brown - 54
    19. Eric Allen - 54

Now in 9th place all time with 59 by my calculations.

If he plays a couple of more years after this season, he would project to finish 3rd all time.

Definitely. If not Defensive MVP, he DAMN sure better be the starting FS in the Pro Bowl for the NFC this year.

    also...

The single-season INT record is 14. Sharper's best is 9. He already has 5 so far this season. At this rate, Shaper will finish with 20.

The single-season record for interception returns for a TD is 4. Sharper's best coming into this season is 2. He already has 2 so far this year.

Sharper is #2 in all time NFL history with 9 interception returns for a TD (not sure if they include this season or not, because Sharper's has already had 2 this season). The #1 guy is Rod Woodson with 12.

Sharper is #4 in all time NFL history with 1,212 career interception return yards. The #1 guy is Rod Woodson with 1,483. The only active player close to Sharper is Ed Reed with 1,161. Next is Ty Law with 791 and Charles Woodson with 665.

Sharper got his 10th int for a TD today, John.

    Just 2 behind the record.

59; he took over 9th yesterday. Came into the season with 54.

    Darren Sharper

Remember when he signed? A lot of the talk was that he would just be the caretaker of the position and mentor Young and/or Jenkins to take over next season. Doesn't look like a guy who doesn't have anything left, does he?
