Ahhhh .... I was wondering why Marcel Darius only received a 2-game- suspension-slap-on-the-wrist.

Seems it was a plea bargain deal ....

OK, I'll bite. From your title, are you suggesting Dareus should lie? That we're not dealing will multiple players with other teams over an extended period of time? Sure you are.

I don't think he should have lied but you gotta admit Tusk, Dareus receiving a 2 game suspension after he accepted 1700 dollars in cash, and AJ Green getting a 4 game suspension for selling his own property to a guy the NCAA deemed as a "bad guy" is ridiculous.

Two separate incidents. In both cases Dareus was not the deciding factor. NCAA make a public statement that Dareus told the truth. I don't know what they had to say about Green. You want hammered, lie to the NCAA. That apparently made a lot of sense to Dareus.

It makes the NCAA look dirtier than they already look. Work with us and be a snitch and we take it easy on you. Try and make money without us getting our cut, we break your legs.

looks like more of the story is beginning to unravel. John Blake, the North Carolina coach who resigned because of his affiliation with an agent is apparently telling all he knows to the NCAA about the trips to Miami this past summer, including information that disputes Darius' account of the incidents.

In an interview yesterday, a reporter asked Saban if he considered Blake a "pimp" like the agents he referred to in the preseason. Saban had already told them he wasn't going to comment on Blake, supposedly because Blake is a member of the coaching fraternity and not an agent.

Saban responded," I guess I'm not stuttering. Do I stutter? I'm not very clear on how I articulate. Maybe I need to go back to West Virginia and get some more hillbilly slang and maybe everyone will understand a little better."

The NCAA publicly commended Darius on his "cooperation and truthfulness," hence the reduced punishment of only two games suspended. Wonder what the NCAA Enforcement group is going to think after hearing Blake's account of the Darius story ?

Nevertheless, I'm resonably certain that Saban's "articulation" is just fine .... or at least it was when he stated, "I am not taking the Alabama job" :thumb:

Go ahead and say most Bama fans really think - Darius plays for Bama, we are the only thing that matters in college football and we think the two game penalty is way to harsh, but since we have better back ups than everyone else has on their first team, we will live with it.
