yeah but working out at Deon Sanders house isn't an infraction. So he lied about it, he got suspended for the rest of the season, this dude took money and got caught, how is that better?
Well Roger Clemons is facing possible jail time because he may have lied about using steroids? How pathetic is that? Martha Stewart went to jail, not for stock fraud, but for lying to investigators. I guess it's the way of the world now.
yeah that is pretty stupid also, wasting tax dollars to send a message not to lie to congress, who by some ironic chance are a bunch of ****ing liars themselves.
I said he also met with agents and lied about it. It was proven that he had knowledge of what he did. Bama is pleading ignorance and the NCAA is letting them. I have not made a case for it being truthful.
so is just meeting with an agent a violation? i mean here is a guy who you know is going to be playing on sunday, he can't just meet with a guy to discuss the future possibly? Or does it just boil down to the fact that they don't like being lied to?
Dareus is suspended for the next two games. That would include Penn State. That would be San Jose St. and UNDEFEATED in the history of college football Georgia State. No details that prove Dareus took anything from an agent. It's being theorized that the Kid from NC was a runner and he took advantage of his personal relationship with Dareus to set this up, without his knowledge. The fact the NCAA commended his "honesty" is something that seldom is stated by them.
i dont remember an agent being involved in dez's case so if i was wrong there, well, i was. cause i was thinking it was working out with sanders is all. and lying. and im not saying it was ok, to lie, dez dug his own grave with that. im saying it shouldnt be MORE of a sin. they both got caught in some shyt, but i just see that the bammer got off easy. dez didnt. its the unevenness of the punishments handed out.
Yeah, I get the honesty angle. You have repeated it enough and I understand the NCAA is buying it. They believe him when he says it was perfectly normal for another kid to hand him the reimbursement, and not think that money was coming from an agent. Because kids do that all the time. They are just rolling in it. I doubt anyone else not draped in crimson believes it though.
I agree it is bs, but that is the NCAA justification. Col Reb is probably right. A lessor school would probably not get this consideration.
