He's a D-Line prospect from Rancho Verde HS in Moreno Valley (Riverside) California. Same HS as Tyron Smith who just verbaled to SC on Friday AM. Tyron (below) is an O Lineman and is only 16. And no, I don't know who the kid is in the background.

Just for some reference, this photo is from left to right: Daniel Campbell, Matt Meyer (commit), Matt Kallil (commit), and Tyron (commit). Matt Kalil is ALL of 6'8" and 290.

All those guys would look much better in purple and gold. No offense or defense for that matter ! Speaking of Tulane ....

Campbell gave his verbal to USC. Strange though. He said his decision had come down to USC and............Florida?

I saw his decision live on Houston TV.... He said his choices were down to 5 schools, w/ LSU #1, and USC #2... Fla, Mich were also in top 5... But said "I chose USC because of the beach, and everybody loves you there."

Good lord, how long until USC hits a bump in the road? They can't get every 5* and every #1 ranked class forever...

    Can they?

Unfortunately, the word of his decision had leaked prior to his TV announcement. He told at least ONE recruiting service that it had been down to Florida and USC. Teenagers.

Did he really say that was his reason? I hope not cause if he hits any kind of snag, then the beach isn't going to be enough to keep him from going elsewhere.

Top rated classes can be overrated. You still have to get the talent to do what you want and everyone knows that star rankings may not be a true indication of how a career turns out. That said, this is perhaps the best O line class in history for USC.
