I first found Dandy Don's website in 1998 when I was on active duty in the Air Force. Stationed in Wyoming at the time I did not get much news on my LSU Tigers so I emailed him to thank him for keeping up the site. I have read the site practically every day since and emailed Don several times over the years. He ALWAYS replied. I have been retired from the Air Force for 10 years now and reading Dandy Don's site is a part of my day. My hat's off to Dandy Don, a great American and LSU fan.
I've read DandyD's site for over 7 years now. Since I was a student at LSU. All 4 of my grandparents and my father had cancer. It's a terrible illness. I've never written DandyD but today for the first I felt the need to tell him how much he's appreciated. He is a great tiger fan and a great man.
I start my day with dandy don each morning...super nice man and my thoughts and prayers are with him. A true gentleman and a true tiger fan....thank you and stay well Mr Long.
I don't read Don's site as much as I used to. We're both about the same age and he's been through some tough times recently. An additional benefit of us winning another crystal football would be the immense pleasure it would bring Don.
. One of the truly great Tiger Fans.......I look for Don at the LSU Recruiting Bash every year. :tigereye:
God Bless Don and his family, thanks for sharing this article, I am posting it on my FB pages and groups!

For me, Dandy Don is synonymous with LSU. I have been reading his site for a few years now. You will be hard pressed to find a better site for the Tigers. You certainly won't find a more genuine and passionate fan who has the true heart of a Tiger. I too am reminded of how thankful I need to be for the many things I take for granted. Along with my many thanks I am thankful for Dandy Don and the many years he has provided me with the best LSU news on the web. May this be your best Thanksgiving and may the Lord bless you with joy, and wrap you with love and family now and each day forward. Thanks Dandy D!!!
Mr. Don Long has informed us on his website that he believes that this will be his last Thanksgiving with us. I read this last night and was moved very close to tears.
