He got Simmons because of the godfather. Victor and Blakeney follow Simmons. Where exactly has the great recruiting been outside of Simmons and his coat tail. We have no depth. No player development. I agree that Jones won't get fired though. How can they fire him, a minority, when they kept the white guy.
I try to avoid criticizing college or high school teams but, this years edition of LSU Basketball was simply terrible. The game today, if you could call it a game was the worst I believe I have ever seen. Even pee wee basketball at the very least often funny. It didn't seem like any of the five on the floor gave a shit about the outcome and CJJ looked like someone had turned the lights off. These guys had everything to play for and blew it. IMO this clubs performance was a total embarrasment to the university and the State of Louisiana.
31 points. 31 stinking points. I'm confident l could grab 9 more people from this board and put up 31. What a disgrace.
Someone is gonna have to check but I would almost bet LSU hasn't had a 31 point or lower game since the invention of the shot clock when teams could just hold the ball around half court. When I was in high school Tioga did that shit against Pineville, final score was 14-12 it was the most pathetic thing I've ever seen.
And you guys think Les is a bad coach. JJ just set new levels of ineptitude, for a team as talented as this to only score 38 points in a game is unacceptable. He should be fired immediately. I have been in his corner but there is no excuse for what we witnessed today. That was pathetic. My nephew's 11 and 12 year old team could have scored more than that. Seriously.
From Ron Higgins article: Their grand total of 38 points was the lowest in SEC tournament history in the shot clock era that started in the 1985-86 season. It was the lowest total scored by LSU in the SEC tourney since 1945 when the Tigers lost 68-37 to Kentucky. LSU's 13-point first-half tied for the second lowest in LSU history, a half in which Tigers' coach Johnny Jones told ESPN's Shannon Spake in a floor exit interview that his team had "good energy." The D.O.A. Tigers' 20.6 field goal percentage (13-of-63) was the lowest in the tournament since the SEC re-started the tourney in 1979.
I still don't have much confidence in Miles, and I don't think your nephew's team would have done better.
