Jr. said he wanted to win championships. Looks like his chances will greatly improve next year. Hendrick is the most dominant race team right now and they just got stronger.

It's being reported that Jr. will take Kyle Busch's spot on the team next year. It will be interesting to see how Kyle and Dale will get along the rest of the year. I bet DEI will try their hardest to get Busch next year to have a big name on their team.

And how are the NASCAR fans gonna react? The most loved driver (Jr.) in racing and the most hated driver (Gordon) in racing are gonna be teammates next year. I guess we'll see!

I am not sure that Jr. is the most loved driver, there are lots of fans who love their driver. Jr. is probably one of the most popular.

I just hope that his fans will quit throwing beer bottles and crap at Jeff Gordon now. And yes I can say that because I have seen it. I have been at Dega when his fans did it, and I saw them with my own eyes.

This makes alot of sense to me. First, Gibbs racing has said they would not have Budweiser as a sponsor of one of there teams because they want to project a "family" image. Second, Everyone knows Hendrick is the best team in NASCAR right now and there is no better place to go if you want to win a Championship. Third, Remember that race when Kyle Busch wrecked and got out of his car disappeared then they asked JR to finish the race in the #5? They guy that asked JR to do it was Kyle's crew chief who happens to be a very good friend of JR. Do not be suprised to see Kyle's current crew chief stick around to be JR's crew chief next year.

It will be interesting to see how all the JR fans/Gordon haters react to this.

Not to me. I understand that part of the reason he left DEI was because he couldn't get controlling interest, but he's also on the record as saying that the team didn't provide him with the car or the support he needed to become competitive. Is he going to get that with Hendrick? He's coming in as the No. 3 driver behind the Golden Boy Jeff Gordon and Jimmy Johnson. They've been the breadwinners for Hendrick over the last several years, so Jr is probably only going to get table scraps there as well.

I don't think he will be getting table scraps. That #5 car has been as good as or better than the #24 and #48 all year. The equipment Jr will get will be top notch. Now can he win with it? Only time will tell, but if the team chemistry is there, I think he will have all of the other pieces of the pie to succeed.

He will have the full resources of Hendrick Motorsports. You don't go out and sign someone of Jr's stature and not give him every opportunity to succeed.

Thus far, Hendrick has outperformed everyone with the COT. They are running them full time next year. Jr may end up 3rd behind Gordon and Johnson, but that is far better than where he has been for the last several years. And quite honestly, he may not be as good a driver as those two.

He'll have the opportunity to succeed. If he doesn't, it won't be due to lack of resources. I think we'll finally get to see how good a driver he can be.

I don't think Jr. will ever be the driver that his daddy was.

I think too that Jeff and Jimmy are better drivers than Jr. I think Jr. is a good driver but I think too that he might get better. I don't know if he will ever be good enough to win a championship, only time will tell.

Kyle Busch has...he's just too much of an idiot to know what to do with it. Jr. will have Hendrick power under the hood, and he knows how to race restrictor plate races...I expect him to win at least one rp race, if not two next year. Gordon or Johnson will win the others.

It's so ridiculous how people are reacting to this move. Do people honestly believe that Jr and Gordon don't personally get along? Do they think that Big E and Gordon didn't get along?? I've actually read on message boards that people are saying "I can no longer be a fan of Jr. if he is at HMSports". Some fan...I guess they'll all jump on the Martin Truex, Jr. bandwagon, now. Get over it, already. Jr. made an excellent decision for his career...this is his shot to prove once and for all what he is made of. If you can't win with Hendrick power under the hood, you can't drive. Want proof? How many Hendrick drivers have wins this season?? 4. (all of them) How many other drivers have wins this year?? 4. Hendrick has won 10 of the first 14 races this year...including all of the COT races, which will be raced exclusively next season. If Jr wants to win, he had to make this move. He may win a championship one day...maybe not. But if he does, it will be at Hendrick...not DEI...not Childress.
