Iirc, he's the one who called the players only meeting after the loss to Troy... Maybe GD7 need to step into this role... Has to come from a player as well as the coaches...
Speaking of GD7, has he disappeared, taking the year off getting ready for his big payday next year? We've played 4 games already and I'm not sure I've heard his name called once. Last year it seemed like he was making plays all the time, are we sceaming differently, what's going on with him?
He is the one who should be calling for defensive players only meetings and knocking some heads around. The way that Devin White did last year. And leading by example. For years I wouldn't have blamed the defense for feeling that they were having to carry the whole load for our anemic offenses. Now it's the other way around. Sooner or later a Florida, an Sub that especially Alabama is going to slow down the offense and we won't be able to score at will the way we have so far. Then it will be crucial for the defense to step up with some turnovers and 3 and outs.
The DB issue is a few tings from what I can see. Lack of Dline pressure and youth/assignments in ZONE. Man has been hit or miss, but expected. For all our skills, we suck at zone coverage.
