I'd say if Logan, Chaisson and Lawrence all been healthy today, Vandy would have scored 10 at most and 280 yards or less.
A few points to ponder. First we had key players out on the defense for the past couple of games. That made us thinner in key positions and certainly impacted our overall performance. Second Aranda said he was going to try different things and be more complex. Perhaps this has made the defense hesitant and a step slow getting into position. None of this excuses the lack of discipline and poor tackling. However it does leave room for significant improvements and hope that it’s not as bad as it looks.
Exactly. And those are things you don't fix overnight. In addition to problems leading to poor execution I don't see any evidence that we have leadership that is willing to get in someone's face and/or provide a swift kick in the ass when needed.
Don't hold your breath. Everyone is too concerned with making the big hit that will get them in the Top 10 plays on Sports Center. Aranda has a reputation as a smart X's & O's guy. Maybe he needs to start getting in players faces a little more. O can also chime in.
I held off responding so I could try to put things in perspective. Forever we have had a top level defense and an offense in the toilet. So here we are with the reverse. If guys heal and come back it could get better but that's a big if So it looks like if we dont score 40 on most people there is a real danger of losing some games we thought were winners. It is assured that teams will be making adjustments to our new attack so we can expect that it will become harder to score 40 on teams. saban is a master at taking away what you do well and if we aren't balanced they will out score us. So this season is shaping up to be either a wonderful experience or a heart breaker. I am going to stop worrying and just enjoy the ride because we have never seen this before at lsu.
