4 CWS appearances in a row. 2006 - went up 1-0 in the championship series against an Oregon State team who lost their first game in the CWS. 2007 - got a rematch with Oregon State and destroyed in 2 games. 2008 - Beat LSU twice and lost to Fresno State twice. See a trend here? All three teams knocking them out won the NC.
See Okie? A sac bunt has NEVER created much of a momentum swing. HOWEVER, a GORILLA BALL grand slam changed the momentum of this game to the tune of 11-0.opcorn:
I like that.... Would love to see Tx have to play two games, and we win vs Ark. P.S. What sucks! We win the SEC west, have to win the SEC tourny, and now we still have to eliminate an SEC west team to get to the finals. This bracket thing should really be more fair. Too bad the SEC teams have to eliminate themselves to win the NC. Kinda like FB don't you think.
That's not fully true. Had a few other SEC teams won and got to the CWS, they would have been in the opposite bracket from LSU. On one side of the bracket, Florida would have taken USM's spot vs Texas in the 1st round (Texas' bracket was the only regional/super regional where no SEC team could come through). South Carolina would have taken UNC's spot. Alabama would have taken Arizona's spot. On LSU's side of the bracket, Vanderbilt would have taken Cal State-Fullerton's spot. Ole Miss would have taken Virginia's spot. Georgia and Arkansas were battling for the same spot.
