I'd offer a congrats if I thought it were warrented. I can appreciate an ass whoppin at the hands of great talent, but this was not entirely all that. Great pitching by that frog on the mound, absolutely, but to get the opportunity to face a legit powerhouse and have them drop their biggest meltdown of the entire season, well that is truly a gift. I respect TCU, same as every team here and I certainly concede the win, but insted of congratulations, I'd offer a you're welcome.
See, and I didn't see anything that blew me away. Certainly nothing in the form of an untouchable breaking ball, not over powering in velocity, hell we saw a lot better from that hideous 80's style astro uniformed team in our regional and we touched him up. I think they were just asleep or privileged or whatever. If that was their ace they are in trouble. And @tirk, 1st pitch hitting team my ass, if that were the case we win this game by 6. Meat, right down the pipe almost always today and Tigers just watched as they fell behind the count.
wasnt overpowering but had lots of movement. much like poche before the meltdown. its not always about overpowering. its just what gets the headlines. both starters are excellent pitchers.
Yeah yeah yeah, I know about movement on the fastball, that crap wasn't moving, nor were the tiger bats. They shit the bed plain and simple. This dude look pedestrian at best, nothing special. The lack of motivation by our squad went a long way to making him look a lot better than he is. What do we need? 4 wins to make the final? I hope we see Preston again.
A: we haven't hit a solid breaking/ slider/ sinker pitching ace very well at all this year. We can clean house all day on the flame throwers and curve ball mechanics, but a kid that can throw a ball that crashes or spins weird, we are ground meat. B: This kid throws a wicked sinker which, if hit, at all...usually is a grounder to 1 fielder or another. Other than the homer from foster, every hit was a grounder or up the elevator shaft or barely in the gaps. It is a great pitch. Perfect for a lineup not known for powering anything in his bag. We grounded out 10 times. 10. He was the perfect choice to take on LSU.
lack of motivation? good pitching almost always shuts down good hitting. whether you recognize it or not. its depressing in the opposing dugout. thats what causes that. thats as lame an excuse as LSU didnt want to play bama again as the reason we lost. the other team takes the will out of you. then losers make excuses. this has been the type of pitcher to shut us down all year.
