Omaha eight: Four expected to return to CWS - College Baseball - Rivals.com

It’s never too early to start thinking about next season.
LSU and Texas played for the national title this past season and are expected to return to the College World Series in 2010.
The Tigers welcome back ace pitcher Anthony Ranaudo and a talented collection of hitters. The Longhorns, meanwhile, welcome back the nation’s best weekend rotation and a talented pitching staff headlined by Austin Dicharry.

LSU

Could change if: The Tigers will lose key cog Louis Coleman and likely will lose Ryan Schimpf, Jared Mitchell and DJ LeMahieu. LSU also could lose Blake Dean to the draft, but sources close to the situation have said there’s a great chance Dean returns for another season. The Tigers still are in OK shape if Dean signs a pro contract. But his return would be more than huge for the Tigers.
The skinny: LSU may have a tough time winning back-to-back national titles without several key players from the 2009 national title team, but is expected to return to Omaha with the return of several arms. LSU starting pitcher Anthony Ranaudo had a fabulous ’09 campaign and should be even better next season. The Tigers also welcome back sophomore Matty Ott, who had an amazing freshman campaign. There’s Austin Ross, Daniel Bradshaw, Paul Bertuccini and Chad Jones. The Tigers will have some tough holes to fill at the plate, but Mikie Mahtook, Austin Nola, Tyler Hanover, Micah Gibbs and Leon Landry at least give them a strong nucleus of experienced position players. LSU is really in business if Dean decides to return for another season.

LSU should be ranked preseason top 3.

We will have a perfect blend of experience and youth to give us a more than fighting chance to defend our title.

It's the 1990s all over again people.

I'm excited about the meat of our lineup.. between that new DH, Dean, Gibbs.. we've got quite a bit of power.

I think the new DH and Dean is going to be alot like Dean/Clark.

We will have to find a dependable 2nd and 3rd starter, but if Von Rosenberg is up to snuff we should be sitting pretty.

I think Texas is the favorite for next year. They return pretty much everyone and Jungman will be a force.

I think Bradshaw will have a breakout 2009.

He had a very good end to his season out of the pen.

I am in full agreement here.

Either he ends up a solid starter for the weekend or ends up being our closer.
