I would rather have jobs for Americans than jobs overseas even if it means they starve to death over there in china or Mexico etc. I want Americans to have jobs and money and the rest of them can go to hell. I could give a
damn less about if someone from India has a job when it comes to a choice between an American family eating and a foreign family. Before one single American family goes homeless I would trade off a thousand foreign families.

    that seems very un-christian.

    wow, thats kinda mean.

anyways, when foreigners do well it helps us. they grow out of poverty and need to buy things from us. one of the things that makes economies work is when you allow specialization. like you allow one region to become the manufacturing base and and another place to manage financial services. it makes things more efficient. it is good for americans when we get cheap labor from overseas.

look, i am totally selfish, i dont give a damn about anything. and i know you are too, and so is everyone else. i think it is important that we realize that protectionism hurts us. we dont care about foreigners because we care about them, we care because it makes everyone richer, us included.

In Tennessee , where my mother in law and my wife's step father lives, there was a tri cycle factory. My step father in law worked there for years. They were the little red tri cycles with the red, white and blue streamers came out the ends of the handlebars. Around 1990 or so they moved the plant to Mexico. Two hundred families lost their jobs. It was one of the few places to work there where a man could work for a double digit per hour salary. This crippled that community. The whole town dried up. I saw what happened to my wife's mother when this happened. A few years later the fruit of the loom factory moved to India. She lost her job. The town of iron city Tennessee pretty much died. I have seen the poverty that they live in because their jobs were moved overseas. I don't care if you are black or white. If you are American you are on my team. I don't care if you are a dumbass liberal or a greedy conservative, if you are American , I'm with you. It's us vs them. To hell with them. I'm for America first. If we have to burn their country to the ground to save our country then so be it.

so move. is that so hard?

so move. my father moved, i moved, i dont understand why you have to stay in the same place forever.

so go where the jobs are. you might actually enjoy the new town.

some towns in america are doing better than otherrs. you should live in the towns that are hiring.

thats fine that you are full of hate, but its just a bit irrational. its not really an us vs them.

That is exactly wrong thinking. What martin has said is 100% true. Economies do best when they do what they do best. We suck at manufacturing. Because of regulations, because of unions, and because we don't need to manufacture for ourselves, it is far cheaper for us to have some Chinamen manufacture our stuff and then ship it back to us.

We kick ass at post manufacturing stuff. No one else is even close. Our economy has plainly evolved beyond the 19th and 20th century manufacturing based economies. We need to maximize the stuff we are good at and let someone else handle the stuff we are not good at. If let that happen everyone will win.

Only it leaves the country with fewer blue-collar jobs than blue collar workers. A bad situation.

We don't have a caste system. These blue collar workers can get a new skill set for the jobs that are available.

Get real, your snobbery is showing. All these high school educated ex-factory workers are going to get masters degrees?

why is your nationalism any less reprehensible than racism? (not that i think racism is reprehensible, but still)

why favor americans over foreigners that need jobs?
