I think the polls have numerous flaws - for example, are there explicit guidelines for voters to follow? In other words, I suspect that some voters are trying to predict where the teams will wind up at the end of the season, and not how the team has actually played so far in the season. Some voters openly acknowledge that they do not watch all games, which is pretty tough to do anyway, even if you limit yourself to teams in the top 25 (but if you do that, it hurts the teams trying to make it into the top 25).

Here's something else - in theory, if the rankings are done properly, then the higher-ranked team should beat the lower-ranked team, so if the #12 team beats #14 by a few points, isn't that pretty much what SHOULD have happened, and thus validate the rankings? Yet that #14 team will likely drop in the rankings, rather than staying at #14.

Florida and Bama seem like they could be great- with Florida I think some allowances need to be made for the whole "have yet to play a game with less than 4 starters sick with Flu" factor, I just have a feeling that this team (with Tebow back) could turn it on at some point. LSU is young so there's going to be some inconsistency but I'm not ready to write them off as any worse than a 2 loss team yet, And besides the guy's actually arguing about how tough his conference is when to all outside observers the best team in the conference got dominated (not just beat, dominated) by Boise State.

I'm honestly shocked that we didn't fall much farther down, 10 in both polls keeps us in good shape for a great bowl. We still hold our own destiny, we just have to win out.

Other than Florida, Bama and Texas, it appears # 4 on down is a complete crapshoot. I'm not sure even Florida is better than they were last year... at least offensively... and I'm still not sure what to make of Bama, as Saban will now start finding ways to keep the games close. We'll know all we need to about Texas this week.

The rest of us are either upset with our offense or upset with our defense... waiting for it to "all to come together". It may never "come together" for many teams this year, yet those who survive the close games will look back and go, "hell, we're 11-1 or 10-2... what was I bitchin' about?"

I would suggest you do what I've done, trying to figure out the Hawkeyes.

Buy a defibrillator.

You're not lieing. I used to live 30 miles from U of I... seen some of the craziest games and seasons up there. LSU is gonna cause me to go completely bald before this season is over.

I for one am a happy gator we fell to #2. We are horrible on offense and hopefully this will cause us to take stock and make improvements. Humiliation and chips on shoulders are great motivators. You guys played great a few weeks ago against us now go out there and woop Bama. Other than Ingram they are stoppable. If you dont do it we will Lord willing in Atlanta.
