im not supporting the call, but most likely to gain yards, because they are least likely to expect it. least chance for INT, sort of. just needed a few yds if you believe in jasper from 50 in the muck. gets the ball in Sr. playmakers hands had been successful earlier in the game. there was time
I voted no for the words behind it. "Give the guy another year." My reason is b/c I feel this next year is the tell all for both Crowton and Miles. I think both are putting it all on whether or not JJ improves to a top LVL QB next season with a improved O'line and I am too. Some of us feel that things could have been different on O given better play at QB and Oline, or at least I feel that way. Others feel that it is Miles and Crowton holding us back. In all, none of us know what is really going on and all we are doing is speculating at best. I am no where near happy with the performance this year, however last year the problem was not Crowton so much as J'Lee throwing Pix 6's all over the place and out D not stopping anyone. To me, over last year: QB play was better, but not great O'line/D'line, downgrade from last year LB/Secondary was muh much better Running game was a downgrade from last year Only once last year did we manage to muster up less than 300 yrds in a game and that was the loss to Ole Miss. This year in 5 games we did not reach the 300 yrd mark! No matter how good of a QB LSU could have had this year I still think LSU would have lost 3 games b/c of no running game. If a team can't run a basic running play up the middle then there is something wrong with the pieces in place O'line/RB's. Yes, it is Crowtons fault for calling some of the dumbest plays I have ever seen at the absolute dumbest moments, but there are others when the play call was perfect and the players just didn't perform. I do agree that Crowton calls plays based on X's and O's and not really thinking of the type of talent he has on the field. He is wrong for that. Though I did see times where he or they tried to change it up a bit and play to JJ's strengths and then players just dropped balls and so forth. It still brings me back to basic football plays and the inability for some of our players to beat their man and make it work. I think the problem is more of a individual coaching problem more than anything.
On the radio Crowton said he called it because it had been working in the 4th quarter, the defense was laying back, the crown of the field was dryer than the sidelines, and it would have put us in field goal position in the center of the field.
I really don't have a dog in this fight. However, if I do vote, it will probably be a no vote. (when is the last time Ole Miss won two years in a row?)
I say yes. It looks like there is 109 better oc's and JJ has not,or can anyone understand this system. :geauxtige
Crowton is my arch nemesis. Pains me to watch any other team and see how much better prepared they are than us.
