Has anybody else seen or heard anything about this. Rivals has him listed as a possible candidate. Could we possibly lose both of our cords. after this season. Just not sure how much to take from this because the also list Saints coach Sean Payton as being on the list for the Michigan job. Here is the link for those that want it. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=1144&CID=741148
He was or still is on the Arky list. I say our chances increased that he will stay after Miles made his decision clear.
Ugh....when your current job is as a coordinator, I'm SURE there are a LOT of coaches out there that would certainly consider being a HEAD coach--EVEN at Duke--as a job improvement! Think about it! The Dukies football program is in the cellar and there are almost ZERO expectations right now. ....ANY coach that either BEATS UNC and/OR wins 4-5 games will be glorified for years!
Well, success DOES have that effect and you really get an idea as to how good of a coach you have when you can replace the coaches and STILL remain a force. I don't think that there's a coach out there that has it all. Meaning, no coach is a top "X's and O's" guy AND top recruiter AND personable AND a great disciplinarian AND great motivator AND a great intivator. More than likely, every coach out there has some of these traits but lack the others. For all the head-scratching and criticism Miles gets for some of his decision (either with clock management or in-game decisions), you can't deny that in his 3 seasons, he's done a VERY stand-up job at hiring assistants that have helped us get to the BCS title game. Look at the Patriots...they lost both their coordinators (Weis and Crennel) and they are still a Super Bowl contender. If there's one think I have no worries about, it's that Miles will hire quality and productive assistants.
I believe that Miles can hire the right coaches and if crowton does go to be a head coach some where. Than that just shows it. Only reason i mentioned anything was because i hadn't heard about him being on any lists until today.
Well he has been a head coach and has not gotten a great deal of credit or publicity for this year's offense. He may covet a better head coaching job then Duke, and LSU is the place to build that resume. Lots of tv spots, great athletes. I think he will be here at least 2 more years.
He kinda blew it at BYU. I suppose he may stay here to build a name, but he will always have BYU on his record. Duke may not be a terrible job to take. Not a lot of pressure to win and the ACC hasn't panned out to be the tough conference everyone thought it would be.
