John,in my case, it's a general feeling based on Saban's work both at LSU and Bama of late. Either he develops them well or his recruits pan out better than ours lately. Recruiting is more inexact than we think (based on the HS rankings of half the NFL players). Miles does a pretty good job here. My opinion of Miles' job is based on the last two years. No hard core examples, just a general feeling. I'm not really a Miles critic because despite the last two years, I want to see longer term results. This year was an overall improvement from last year's meltdown. His first three years were great. The sinking of our offense is alarming though.

It has absolute zero to do with the Bears rumor which is believed to only ever be a rumor with very little truth, if any, to it. I know it still makes little sense... I'm only passing on information that I have collected. It just another possibility to think about, nothing concrete to it. I don't think we will ever know how much truth there ever was to GC being fired and how close it might have been.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% I'm still dying to understand how Stud still has a job. Even the most ardent Miles supporters admit Stud has done an abysmal job as OL coach, and I have to think his buyout is peanuts compared to GC's.

Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% seems we heard a lot about miles trying to find stud another gig, and that memphis offered him their oc position but he declined. twice. someone, or someones, mentioned something about stud having a contract that made it near impossible to get rid of him. i dont remember the specifics. anyone know what that was about?

But with all the rumors about GC, aside from what Okie has already posted, I haven't heard a thing about him except when they went to the new blocking concept he wasn't comfortable or totally on board with it which is at least a month old. Everyone was getting excited about GC possibly being gone that they forgot about the problems with the O line coach.
