Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% i don't know if they are responsible for it, sounds more like a new york thing to me, but it does get cold up there.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% Its a tough situation. On the one hand, Les has generally done a pretty good job and kept recruiting at a high level. He doesnt deserve to be left dangling in the wind like that. If he needs to replace the OC, he should have the dollars to do it. On the other hand, Les is the cause for the national perception of LSU's head coach being a buffoon. I travel a lot and whenever I mention LSU there is usually a slight murmur of chuckle and a few snide comments about Miles. There is likely some fat cat(s) who dont like having that image for the program. In the end I hope Les gets the money to buy Crowton out because GC is not going to find a job paying what he gets from LSU. His marketability is not very good and even if he goes to an NFL team he wont being going as an OC and wont make near his LSU salary.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% I have read that Seattle has fired Jim Mora and is looking at Pete Carroll to replace him. The article goes on to say that if Carroll took the job, he would try to bring Bates with him as OC. This could mean that the Bears job will still be available and Crowton could still be gone! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4808557
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% If this is the case, we better settle in for a loooong ride, for 2011 and beyond. If Alleva can't put up $800K to buy out a coordinator, do we have any shot at getting Miles to agree to a huge salary cut down the road? And if not, what are the odds of picking up a quality coach on the cheap? If the LSU powers-that-be think things are bad now, wait until they see the drop in revenue after a 6-7 win season.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% Under Miles, LSU has the #10 win pct. in the NCAA, #2 in the SEC. That's not average. Stoops and Richt wish they would have done as well (they had the #12 and #14 win pct over the same time). Under Miles, LSU's all time win percentage went from #15 to #13 in NCAA history. That's not average. Under Saban, LSU won 75.0% of our games. Under Miles, LSU has won 77.3% of our games.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% Why don't ya'll just settle down and wait to see what happens? It's not like you can do anyything about it. You sound like a bunch of old women.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% I can't do anything about Obama either, but it ain't gonna stop me from b****ing about him.
Re: Crowton to Bears? Rumor crushed - ^(*(*% To bad this rumor wasn't true and Crowton says "he is looking forward to coaching at LSU next year!" BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
