He wasn't. Miles had no confidence in his QBs and he wanted conservative (read: running) play. When we got behind and a win was in jeopardy, they turned 'em loose.

I have little problem with this because, well, 11-2.

The problem is we'll never really know the whole answer. His BYU track record is way too similar to his production at LSU to be coincidence. It's possible he didn't have the raw talent on hand to turn Jefferson or Lee into consistently competent QBs, but it's hard for me to believe we recruited 2 simultaneous busts at that position. Hell, look at what Spurrier did for Garcia's development as a QB this year, and he is every bit as mediocre of a talent as Jefferson or Lee.

I don't disagree with you at all. Jefferson wasn't bad in the passing game in 2009, the only thing he had a problem with was throwing the ball down the field, and running the read option, and speed option. And we don't know if they told the quarterbacks to not throw downfield because of the 08 interception deal.

So Jordan doesn't run the read option very well, we are ok in the passing game, we couldn't run the ball at all in 09. The emphasis was clearly put on the run in the spring and fall, and Jordan got better, but regressed as a passer. Not really Crowton's fault.

Maybe Lee and Jefferson just take a really, really long time to catch on.

Well, we did. Plus the Zach Lee thing.

I'd take JJ over Garcia. He's inconsistent and a head case.

I'll say " Thank You Coach Crowton for all you did, it was fun ,sometimes! But our offense was not up to sec standards most of the time. 11-2 says I might be wrong, but where I come from if it looks like it, smell like it, it usually is and this offense had that smell. Hope the best to you,but its time to modernize our offense , Good luck and god bless you and your family. Now We Gonna Crank Up Da Tiger Offense :tigereye:

Hallelujah! Dont let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. Even though Miles couldn't or wouldn't show him out as quickly as I'd have liked, at least he's gone. Here's your chance coach Miles. You've got your extension to show you how much we all love you. You have what appears to be a very good QB coming in next season. You have a pretty good signing class so far. Make a good hire this time. Everything will be in place to make the 2011 season and epic one.
