I'm no Growton defender but we should remember that in those two close losses the offense scored 48 and 37 points. In the two losses that season it wasn't Crowton's offense it was Pelini's defense didn't hold up their end.
I don't think what he said is necessarily untrue or out of line. It was a mixture of his and Miles philosophy and the two mixed like oil and water. Add to that the fact that QB recruiting/development was abysmal and it was sure to fail. Most complex offenses need a QB with a brain and LSU has definitely been lacking that. Crowton may very well have better success at Maryland. That being said, I'm glad he's gone. He may not have been the entire problem, but he certainly wasn't the solution. I wish him luck, but please do not come back!
For all the people ripping Crowton here. Did you actually read the article? This is exactly what Crowton said about LSU: What exactly do you take issue with in that paragraph? He never said he didn't call plays or anything negative about his time here. Why all the hostility toward a guy just trying to build excitement for his new program?
I'm not sure what you mean, but I'll tell you one thing, I'm tired of taking YOUR crap. Want to meet at Shady's?o:
Does anyone think that crowton may have done better if he would have had a qb that didn't look like a deer in the spotlight or a qb that didn't throw touchdown passes to the wrong team? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's gone too. I'm just saying what if say Mallet was at lsu the last few years instead of jj or jl?
