Here's my take. I think what Les probably told the team or knowing how Les talks, meant to tell the team was something along the lines of "My focus is on kicking the Vols butt tomorrow and come next week I or my represenative will talk to UM." As I said in another thread, the info leaking that him leaving was a done deal and even naming who his DC would be pissed him off. That and LSU sweetening the pot convinced him to stay at LSU. Let me emphasize that's strictly the way I read the tea leaves and not based on anything else.
It seems like the creator of this thread is doing the same thing that others did by believing the media hype. The truth is that we don't know what the truth is yet, its too early to be determined at this time. I will mention however, On ESPN 2 ticker as I was watching the some of the NC vs Kentucky game that it said Skip has spoken with the media and CLM's will remain and Bo was leaving although CLM's hasn't signed his life away yet!
It's been reported everywhere but it's more of the unconfirmed source garbage. No one is saying Skip told me it's a done deal it's just he said she said all over again. If they have a contract agreement even if it's not signed why didn't Miles or Skip mention it at the pc? I just don't see why they would be so vague and let the speculation continue if it's a done deal.
As Les said at the end of his statement, "Ask me after the game." Hopefully he will make it crystal clear or Skip can interpret for him.
And more: he Advocate's Randy Rosetta got confirmation from Athletic Director Skip Bertman that Miles was indeed staying about 35 minutes before LSU's scheduled pregame news conference. Perhaps the phrase "news briefing" is a better description with an emphasis on "brief." Miles, LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette, Chancellor Sean O'Keefe and Athletic Director Skip Bertman took the stage at a hastily scheduled news conference in the bowels of the Georgia Dome. Three men sat, an intense and agitated Miles stood and refused to sit when Bonnette asked him to do so for the benefits of the cameras. Thirty-seven seconds and some angry and agitated words later, Miles exited stage left (his left, anyway) and Sean O'Keefe summed it to a roomful of laughter when he said "What (Miles) said." And thus ended the first pregame head coaching news conference in the 16-season history of the SEC Championship Game. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/11995686.html
