Did someone actually interview Crompton when he said he is solid to UT? What about this kid Colt McCoy from texas who is a Longhorn commit? Rivals reports he is considering visits since RP commited to Texas. I think we definitely need to sign someone unless we count Jordan Reever as a diamond in the rough. Never seen the kid play though.

    McCoy says nothing about

Perrilleaux and his commitment. What McCoy stated is that he isn't happy with the way Texas is running their offense, they are NOT passing the ball and that Perrilleaux and Young are about the same and he doesn't want to get caught up in the way Texas runs their offense. He wants to play for a National Championship team and Texas isn't....

Spoke with Saban twice the pass week and has told the Texas coaching staff about his concerns. Also, he stated that LSU's two freshman havn't stepped up basically and he has a shot to compete and have a chance to play. Colt McCoy wants to throw the football and LSU does that alot but Texas doesn't. This recruiting trail is far from over and surprises are starting to pop up as this is the time for recruiting to start heating up, wait till High School football ends...gets crazy!

Watched the video of Colt McCoy (cool name btw), his arm strength seemed lacking. Threw a lot of lobs. Dew looked better on film IMO (Although it is very limited and Jr year film for the most part). Time for the overly used but but right on Cliche', "Trust in Saban." RP is cocky/confident/arrognt/etc. but if thats who the man wants, thats who I want. Same for Dew, McCoy, Hundley, whoever. The luxury with this situation, is if we get someone who may not play early, he can sit back, red shirt and learn the system for a couple years. He will be totally prepared when his number is called. Its pretty obvious that that JR isnt ready to play high caliber mistake-minimized football. But who knows next year he may fufill all expectation (I think he will). It takes taime to develope QBs. Took Rohan till his last year. JR was very raw when he got here. OK i'm done rambling....

I never said that Russell wouldn't become a good college quarterback or even a good NFL quarterback. I was just pointing out that fans are quick to label recruits as starters before they get on campus. Then once they get on campus they are quick to label them busts, heisman trophy candidates, then as soon as they have a bad game they start looking for a secondary role for them and want to plug in the next phenom.

    That is because

the fans like myself are competitors just like the players. I know for a fact I want my team to win but I don't post too much negativeness as I always support whoever is playing at LSU and wish for the best. It is VERY common to see LSU fans wanting high expectations, we just came off of a championship...

One thing is for sure, Russell was told that he would be starting and IMO since he hasn't shown improvement as quickly as most would like...the QB position is up for grabs next season.

Are you on the LSU coaching staff? If not, that is just a bunch of crap. Russell only has to impress Saban. 6 games into a college career is way too early to be making judgements like that.

    Don't need to be

on the coaching staff to realize where we sit at QB. Also, never made judgement on the kid....JUST watch the games and it speaks loudly/for itself!

I hope Russell leads us to championships but if he is, the young man has alot of learning to do...the SEC isn't High School and everyday I hope and pray that he gives 100% to learning the system at LSU.

Remember, almost all is opinions here on the boards...God Bless!

If we dont get a Bluechip QB this year then we'll def.

get one next year. i'm sure there will be alot to choose from, and LSU will have to much to offer them.

i think getting one this year would be more of a luxury than a necessity.

Have to disagree with that comment, especially since during last week's call in show Saban himself said it's very important to get at least one every year and hopefully two. He has also said it will be very important to get at least one very good QB this year because we didn't get one last season.

i suppose you're right... after thinking about it i realize the importance of having a chain of underclassmen QB's (getting PT or not) learning the system.. being ready incase of injury or an early exit by a starter to the pros.

as we're seen this year QB arent plug and play, but more like plug and pray.

i have confidence we'll work out the bugs by next year.
