made a really good beef stew yesterday. tenderized stew meat, onion, carrots, potatoes, fresh mushroom slices (lots!), beef stock, and lots of red wine. seasoned with thyme, kitchen bouquet, garlic, salt, papper, bay leaves. coated the meat heavily in flour and browned it first so the flour helped thicken it a bit. served over buttered noodles. deeeee-lish!
Agree completely and would tell you a story about how I once responded to a gf preferring me to say it that way but I don't want to introduce that into a crock pot. got dam, I'm scaring myself. I hope I'm not getting a conscious.
conscience. dont kid yourself. theres been times she wasnt even conscious. you can get a pork ribeye roast for like 6 bucks. drop it in there with onions and whatever like okie mentioned and be done with it. add stock and let it simmer all day. or the same with a whole chicken. or whatever part of a chicken you like.
I get the 10# bags of chicken qtrs, line the bottom of the crock pot with foil, and then season them with Tiger Dust. Stack 6-7 qtrs in there, and slow cook for 10 hours while I'm at work. Come home and then dig in. I eat soo much chicken I'm about ready to start clucking. Add a steamer bag of broccoli in the microwave and you have a damn fine dinner.
red I bought my daughter a book the other day that had SO many recipes for crock pots. Even desserts. I saw it on the counter at T Boy's. There's one left if you want me to pick it up. They're only 12 bucks. Slow Cooker Meals, by Neal Bertrand. I also saw one similar with rice cooker recipes. May go back to get that one later. Oh and I like that idea of swapping cock for crock. Sorry to hear she move on to a bigger one.
