I disagree with lowering his offer. He's shown how stupid he can be already so no need to cut your nose off to spite your face. You have to make a deal that makes sense. Any contract offer will surely be prorated at this point. Remember, if he walks, you just wasted a top 5 pick on no one. That's a tough pill to swallow. I read that they are making a new offer. If they were smart, they would set a firm deadline and tell him they will not negotiate past the 23rd of September or something like that. That's how you bring finality and a sense of urgency to the situation.

This guy is either the most arrogant guy on the planet or just easily influenced. He's making a huge mistake. Mid first round will be his draft selection next year at best and they will offer mid first round money. After that, it's freefall time if he lets it go another year.

I guarantee you Crabtree will not even be a top 15 pick next season.

He will go first round because someone is desperate for a wideout.

He will get less money next year (even with their inflated pay hikes figured in) than he would have had he signed this year. And that's a win win for all that hate the choice this guy has made.

Get a REAL agent, you phucking idiot.

I hope Jerruh goes after him, he would look good with a big star on the side of his helmet. Then the cowboys will have Roy Boy on one side, Crabtree on the other, and the new head coach Mike Shanahan. Thats my prediction anyway.

So he might actually go back into the draft? That's stupid. There should be a new rule: If you get drafted and don't sign a "reasonable" contract, your punishment for wasting a teams #1 draft pick should be for the team to keep your rights for at least 1 whole year (or longer), while you lose eligibility for any future drafts unless you are released by the team before that point.

Or maybe that would be stupid.

I can't believe he will be allowed to screw SF out of their #1 pick and go back into the draft and be drafted in the first round again. How can you be drafted twice? Too bad SF can't trade his rights or something.

One thing you need to understand about Jerry Jones, is the fact that he will do whatever it takes to get the Cowboys in the news. During next year's draft if Crabtree goes back in, and Jerry has a mid to late first round pick, he will take a guy like Crabtree, tons of potential, and some baggage, but that doesn't matter to Jerry. If it did, he would have never taken TO in the first place, nor Tank Johnson, nor Pac Man Jones. Think about the way ESPN reports their news, you don't think ESPN would be talking about Crabtree and the Cowboys for weeks, even longer leading up to the 2010 season. That is right up Jerry's alley.

That MF Crabtree needs to sign. I picked him in the last round of my fantasy draft hoping that he would be the steal of the draft

But Lasalle, he got rid of tank, pacman, and TO. You think he'll go down that path again after getting burned so badly by all three?

Absolutely. When people are not talking about the Cowboys, its a problem in Jerry's mind. I don't think he would hire someone like Mike Vick or someone that brings a complete circus, but i do think he would absolutely take a shot at Crabtree if he is available mid to late first round next season. Dallas needs another receiver, Crayton drops the ball too much, Miles Austin will never be a number 2. Now if Dez Bryant or if Lafell has a killer year, are there, i think he would take them first, but don't let the fact that Crabtree carries a little baggage around fool you into thinking Jerry Jones wont hire him. Think about the Cowboys, Charles Haley, Michael Irvin, Deion Sanders, Terrell Owens, Pac Man Jones, Bill Parcells, Tank Johnson.

Sorry, but even if he were to sign today, he wouldn't be a fantasy factor this season. Wide Receiver's one of the hardest positions to make an immediate impact in, and that's IF you go through all of training camp. I'd drop him, unless it is a keeper league.
