No question. But those aren't the reasons he thinks he should get paid, it's just what he's saying because he knows that he can get paid. I'll be the first to crucify the guy if he sits out the season because it's stupid, however, I stopped getting mad at athletes over holding out for more money a long time ago. Especially in the NFL where you're always one play away from the end of your career.

My guess is he signs just before the last preseason game.

crabtree may be stupid for doing this, but there is nothing wrong with it. not even remotely. he's negotiating. he is not renegotiating a contract .

If you ran your business this way, you would go broke.

Why??? Cuz i don't bow down to spoiled little athletes? I am not against providing him a fair wage, but he is not the best receiver on the planet. Hell he has not even caught 1 ball as a pro athlete. I would not allow a rookie to dictate how i run a business. If this was a proven WR, he was have a much better ground to stand on.

If the kid wants to make it rich in the NFL, Prove it. Show me the talent before I show you the money.

Just wanted to point out how spot on my prediction was.

If this guy sits out a year, he's as stupid as they get.

I agree. I can't believe it's gone this far. Wonder if reality will set in at some point and he'll sign. I'd start reducing the offer a little each week if I'm San Fran. They hold all the cards. Just not convinced Crabtree's smart enough to realize that.

He is not signing....the people around him have filled his head so full of **** that they have him convinced that if he sits out and reenters the draft he will be a Top 5 pick.

AND instead of the NFL teams teaching this prick a lesson AND NOT DRAFTING at all next year..someone will take him with a 1st round pick and the me first generation will win another battle!

He CAN'T win. He might very well go in the first round next year. But it WILL NOT be Top 10. On top of that, he will lose a year of salary and a year of experience. This is going to drop his stock. Even if someone drafts him at #12 last year (which I believe is way higher than he has any shot at going), what's he going to do? Hold out because he should have originally been a top 5 pick? No way.

And, keep in mind, he can't work out for any other team until right before the draft because the 49ers have his rights until then.
