http://lsu.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=890267 "This Tigers class could rank as one of the best in recent history. For that to happen, all the dominoes would have to fall right. Still, even if they don't, it's going to be tough to stop Les Miles from having the nation's best class on National Signing Day."
We're in pretty good shape in regards to player evaluations. Two, Davenport and Jackson, have been upgraded to 5 stars since they committed, and Ford could very well be upgraded to 5 stars by signing day.
LSU could conceivably end up with it's top 17 players ALL being in rivals top 200 (plus Benton) and anywhere between 22-24 four star or better recruits. If that happens, I don't think USC can do anything about it. Randle or Kelley Jackson Loston Debose Davenport Benton (should count as a 5 star) Ford Faulk Nixon or Martinez or Su'a Filo Jones or Bostic or Telfort Montgomery or Dye or Stinson Myles or Armstrong Calhoun Pratt Mingo Ainsworth Bell Brockers Other 4 star recruits Downs Hicks Lowe Minter Allen or Claiborne (one or both could be elevated) LSU, in this case, would sign 29 players. Not sure how they would make that work. Great problem to have, though. I think we finish at 27, and don't sign another OL and only sign 2 of the 3 out of LB, DE and S.
Davenport is in danger of falling just out of the list of 5 star recruits (and I think this is partially what TB3 is alluding to). He has dropped the last couple of updates. He is still #26 and at this point they have 31 players graded 5 star. The next DT in line is #92, so that has to bode well for Davenport hanging on to that 5th star. I will be shocked if Ford does not get his 5th star now. Scout has already evaluated him and they argue over he or Brown is the best RB in the nation. I can't see Michael staying as a 5 star recruit if no one will bother to recruit him.
I agree. And when I mentioned Randle it was because there is another SEC team in the race, but no one truly knows what their numbers situation will look like. Somebody compiled all the realistic recruits for each team and did all of the different scenarios. LSU/USC and Alabama have the most realistic shots to take the top spot, in that order.
