Can't argue with some of the comments. van horn shoulda run away with it. A ball girl coulda led this team to the series. Just sayin.

Coaches with great players almost never get the credit. But with never a real Sunday starter despite some mental boo boo's at times this team is now 53-10. And there are at least 5 games they lost that they could have won. CPM deserves the honor. How many times did some coach other than Phil Jackson, Pat Riley or Bill Belichek win the COTY?

Laval couldn't have done it. It's not always as easy as it appears. Van Horn is a great coach and did a great job, but so did PM.

Who said he did not deserve credit? He deserves credit for a lot of things but really, he has a bench full of drafted players, absolute studs in college baseball who all had more to do with their team stats than th HC. How bout we give those kids the credit for that achievment over the cat driving the bus. I like Paul and I am glad he is at LSU, but this year, it is more about the players and what they delivered.
Who said it was easy? I look at the same 2 teams at the same place in the season and it is not hard to see who had a tougher job.

Hogs started their season in the toilet, living up to expectations. They have been world beaters since we kicked their ass in their house. Put the 2 teams side by side and I'll take van horn all day over CPM. Take 1/3 of our line up away, same on defense and you basically have the hogs. How can a coach doing the same with less even be argued?

Just for clarification, would you rather have Van Horn as our coach or are you just talking about the job they did this year?

    This year.

For us, I give more credit to Dunn and Cannizaro this yeat than CPM. They are the brain trust behind our offense and pen. They sure make Paul look pretty good...

I don't disagree, but part of the reason we are doing so well with all of those draftees is CPM and his recruiting and coaching. He did change hitting coaches when necessary and part of being the COTY is pulling all of the right strings.
