He clearly hasn't watched any of LSU's games. Except maybe the Washington game. This team CAN be the number 2 or 1 team in the nation, they aren't right now though for sure.

Possibly true, but even so his opinion is that of an outsider not that of a fan. I'd say his, as well as, the AP, and Coaches is a lot closer than many of the hypercritical fans we have.

Yeah, you are right, its hard when you are a fan, because what you do is compare your team to the best LSU teams you have seen, and not to the rest of the NCAA. Other people have said it also, there is Florida, and Texas neither have looked dominant, and then you have Bama, Ole Miss, Penn St. and Cal, none of those teams have looked dominant either, with the exception of the North Texas games they played. Maybe it is alot closer than we think, who knows? I do know that i have faith in this team, and just hope that they continue to get better.

Right after he said it my phone rang and my buddy says "Did you just hear that?", I told him "Yeah, I think he meant Bama", but this part definitely gives cause for wonder cause he never mentioned anything about LSU.
Another possibility is that he thinks LSU will be undefeated when Florida come to town and was just starting to hype it up. We are getting better, but at this point are way behind Bama and Florida IMO.

#2 maybe not. But, I can't help but wonder if we are playing down to our opponents a bit. Perhaps when we hit the meat of the SEC schedule, we will ramp it up big time. Still don't think this team is as bad as we have looked. They seemed to have almost sleepwalked thus far. I'm not sold completely on Bama, either. Just too early.

Let me say my piece and I'll let everyone get back to complaining about how bad we suck.

From what I've seen so far it looks like just about every team in the country has issues to work on, not just LSU. If we had beaten UT the way Florida had, there would be endless complaining about how terrible the defense is against the run. Oh wait, there already is. Tebow came dangerously close to exposing Florida as a one-trick pony on offense, but I don't see anyone complaining how they don't deserve to be #1.

And that God-awful, 0-12 team that we looked so horrible against just knocked off the #3 team in the country. Where are all the people talking about how bad UW is now?

Point is there really aren't any dominant Top 10 teams at this point, and if I'm looking at overall performance alone, I honestly don't see how LSU doesn't belong up there. Are they a legit #2? Time will tell, but people seem to be writing off this team far too easily. All I'm saying is to keep things in perspective when looking at the big picture.
