Jones was very clear when the structure went up that he was going with the temporary style building because of the pending move to Arlington (he put this tent up about 3 years ago). What's ironic is that the neigborhood was livid when that thing went up. The HOA files suit, but was denied because apparently when the Cowboys chose Valley Ranch as their base, they were declared exempt from the HOA policies. The entire neigborhood has a uniform scheme, except this massive white blimp looking thing he put up. So Jones said "FU" to the residents of Valley Ranch and put up his big, ugly tent. I really do hate the fact that those guys got injured, but Jones is getting a massive dose of poetic justice.
I've got to wonder, though, what kind of structure would be acceptable in a residential neighborhood. Just on the size of the structure alone, it doesn't take a very big building to look out of place among homes, even large homes. I would guess an indoor practice facility has to be about 130 yards long, 60 yards wide and at least 4 stories tall to accomodate kicking and punting.
That is clearly an instance of "the shyt hitting the fan". Prayers for a speedy recovery for all injured.
There is a high point that allows you to see down on the entire Valley Ranch neigborhood. Great view. All of the houses, businesses, schools, and some roads have a uniform color and design scheme to them. No billboards, signs, or above ground utility wires are allowed. We have a VERY strict HOA. They are almost Nazi's in how harshly they enforce the codes. So when you look down, you see this very attractive, large neigborhood, and then you see the MASSIVE, snow white tent with the blue star logo. It It didn't really bother me all that much, and I was only 2 blocks and a canal away from it, but I know if pissed off a very large sector of fellow residents, as well as the HOA. Here's my abode USMTigers House of Pain- Google Maps The big white thing is the tent. The other white thing to the east in the ice rink that used to be the HQ for the Dallas Stars. Both are a bit out of place. But again, it really doesn't bother me. I think it's cool to have the sports teams nearby, especially the Cowboy Cheerleaders, who I see around in tights and tank tops. Nice.
I don't know, you tell me. Here's a picture someone took of me on the beach the other day. My hair's a litlte messy but it came out okay.
