Countdown to football and getting to know our Tigers… 89 days until kick-off. What better way to count down the days then to get to know our 2010 Tigers? The official LSU roster shows two players with number’s 89 --- Lavar Edwards (DE) and Gret Ostrum (TE). For 2010 to be a great year, we will need improved line play. Can anyone add to what we can expect from both Mr. Edwards and our d-line as well as from Mr. Ostrum and what we can expect from our tight ends this coming year? To start, for a re-cap of Mr. Edwards, RS Freshmen year, see… Lavar Edwards Bio - LSUsports.net - The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics

Just about three whole, long months till football.. How do you all think SEC boxing would go in this boring time slot??? I think boxing is a real no brainer...a win/win situation all around. Personally I'd love to see dual matches between the division teams with a tournament on television afterward. :thumb: Joe Alleva......wake up and smell the revenue !!!!.....hear the sounds of leather gloves thudding against ribs !!!.....imagine the sight of Golden Girls announcing the rounds. Come on man !!!! GET WITH IT !!!!!!!!! opcorn::tigereye:
I'm not sure, but I don't think even the "Golden Girls" can bring us SEC boxing. Besides, I think we're down to the "Golden Girl".
We’re down to 88 days until football and to continue to get to know our Tigers, here’s #88, Chase Clement. Like yesterday’s featured Tiger, # 89, Lavar Edwards, Clement was both an offensive and defensive standout in high school, red-shirted his freshman year and played last year as a red-shirt freshman. From last year, looks look like he will settle in as a defensive end at LSU. However, he did not have as much playing time last year as Edwards. LSU official web site shows Mr. Clement at 6-5 and 258 pounds. I wonder for all of these young players, how their measurements changed after two years at LSU. One would hope that they gained some weight and strength (or in some cases, lost some weight) and remained as fast. On a side note, I’m a bit surprised that so few have picked up on this page. I sure would like to stay focused on positive things and getting to know and talk about a new Tiger each day before kick-off seems like a fun exercise. Anyone care to add anything about what to expect from Mr. Clement this coming season?
im reading. just dont have a lot to say. i like the positive mood and the information, so keep it comin.:thumb:
Good idea you've got going here! :thumb: Actually I think Chase will be playing at TE this season unless something changes. I don't know if they'll bring him in as a DE for certain situations or not. With the exit of Dickson I think they wanted another big TE that can block as well as catch. He's had experience at TE before, so it's not new to him.
LSU had a championship boxing team in the 1950's, but those days are gone. Title IX put an end to all that including our championship wrestling and mens gymnastics teams in the 70's.
