Could this be the unexpected reality of the DL?

Johnson and Ferguson are each better than average players, but neither is a great player and never will be.

Neither has played very much. They will get better with experience. Same is true of the other young'uns.

IF there is a time to step up, this Saturday is it.

We will need our DL in this game.

We will also need Tiger Stadium to be rocking.

The issue with the DL is that there is absolutely no back ups. Normally LSU is constantly rotating along the DL. Not this year. We need others to step up. Its also an issue because of the LBs and DBs sucking so bad. We cant send any extra help. I think out of all the starters the DL is the best group. While Freak isnt the next Dorsey like he was expected he is a good player. The DL gets a decent push. LSU was always helped by having such a strong secondary which gave the DL a sec or two extra to get to the QB. It also allowed us to blitz more because we had faith in our CBs to lock up their WR. If they were beat it was typically a great play by the QB.

when you get doubled on most plays and the linebackers and ends cant get to the QB, yes you will look average.

OL better really step it up or Zach is gonna get hurt. Floridas defense is their strong point. They're only allowing 217 yds a game. This weekend is going to be an LSU offense test big time. Floridas offense is improving also. They put up 240 yds passing against Ark Saturday. Hope chief has someone to cover the receivers by Saturday or Tyler Murphy is going to give us hell.

The only decent team Florida has played all season is Miami. We won't put up 500 yards of offense on them, but their D won't be the feared dominant force it's cracked up to be, especially without Easley up front. This will be Murphy's first road start, as well. Let's see what he can do with one of the loudest crowds in the country bearing down on him.

I'm not going to worry too much about what Florida did to Arkansas because what I've seen of the Razorbacks this season doesn't look good at all.

Florida will obviously score on us, but I still think we'll score more.

I expect a good game again, hell almost all of our games are. I'm sure we will get gashed on some runs and have holes in the secondary. I expect this lsu offense to more than hold their own vs UF. Can't wait for kickoff.

I don't think there is a defense in the NCAA that can shut down this offense. It's just that good.

It is going to come down to if our D can make enough of a presence to keep their points less than ours.
