I'm just sick of the 2 million threads of how the sky is falling ... and its funny b/c most of the people starting these threads are first time posters and probably jumped on the 07 bandwagon and since we arent beating fools faces in by 40+ then the bandwagoners are starting to freak out ... guys, none of us know 09 LSU football better than the people coaching LSU Football ... you can speculate that you know whats best or what our problems are but face it, if you knew the answer you would be the one calling plays ... go back to tigerdroppings

Ya know, I didn't even notice the posters name till you said that. No wonder he's trying to bash OUR TIGERS, he's a Zona fan. Now that is the definition of unerachieving.

I am a real tiger fan in AZ.......And I agree with the title of this thread, if only the title was followed by the following sentence:
Our expectations are just too damn high this early in the season.
However, the funny thing about everyone that thinks we have underachieved have forgotten one thing.....the best you can be is undefeated, which of course we are. What would satisfy the discontent with our coaches and players......maybe 2 - 0 with a cherry on top? How about 2-0 in a bigger font than the other team that is 2-0? Surely there must be a way to be better than 2-0.....right?

I am obviously being a smart ass, and understand the difference between looking good and looking great, but it is a long season. A win is a win, and a loss sucks! So, if we have threads like "Could this be our problem?" now. Just imagine the titles after our first L. The bombs will be flying, I guess I will just yell "Fire in the hole" when I log on that day.

I see the season so far as 3 scrimmages, Crowton and Chavis are teaching/developing. We'll see a little more against Miss St. I feel we'll win against UGA and, depending on the progress, we could give the Gators a heckuva game. Remember what the weather has been at the first two games, and Vandy is always tough early. That we have a "vanilla" 5-wideout set is a HUGE indication to me that we're gonna be seeing something special in a few weeks.

Ok, that's about enough Sprout. If you think Meyer or Saban are looking forward to playing LSU and have no fear against our team, YOU are sadly mistaken. You had a few good points up until that Stupid comment. I would suggest you go back to lurking and stop the idiotic comments.

OK so I'm a troll, I'm from Tiger Droppings, live in Arizona, & don't know squat. Well here is the story. I'm born & raised in New Orleans. Lived there until I went in the Air Force during the Viet Nam era. I've bled Purple & Gold since I was a little kid. I listened to the radio with my folks & Uncles the night Billy Cannon did his thing on Haloween. When the Saints came to NO(in 1967 I think?) I was overseas and started rooting for them then. I've rooted for both of them ever since but due to career decisions I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 1974 and lived there 21 years. I still rooted for both of our teams even living there when I could have easily jumped ship for a 49 ers team that won 4 Super Bowls with Joe Montana. In 1995 I moved to Arizona for a lot of reasons and just retired this past December. Hence I have time to look at these boards now. My opinion was, after reading this board & the sophomoric Tiger Droppings, that I would post this article here and possibly get some real thoughtful discussions instead of the above crap. Guess I was wrong. I never even got a "welcome to the board" comment. I think even Tiger Droppings does that. As Lesticle would say "have a nice day".

I also disagree with the connection you were implying.

Against Washington, yes we gave up a lot of yards. But COACHING adjustments were made at the half and our production improved in the 2nd half both on offense and defense.

Against Vandy, we held our opponent to 210 yards of total offense and won 23-9....

You don't get that by being out-coached.

I actually can't stand the whole "Miles gets out-coached" crap. The guy is closing in on 50 wins compaired to only 11 loses in what is the start of his 5th season.

So Miles isn't Saban-screaming-mad every down....So. Freaking. What.

Since you want to compare Ohio St and LSU, let me point out to you that OSU won their national title in a year where they were Baltimore-Raven-like-dull on offense; "won ugly" in almost EVERY game they played that season.

    Does Miles win? YES

"Oh but Miles surrounds himself with good coaches because he's half the coach Saban, Myer, etc. are". So what! What does that mean? It means good coaches like working with Miles. He doesn't have to be a dictator like Stoops, Saban or Myer.

Does Miles reel in top 10 (and more commonly TOP 5) recruiting classes? YES.

Like the sun rises in the east: Every season we have Tiger fans come out of the woodwork and b*tch and moan NOT about losing...BUT ABOUT NOT PUTTING UP 500 yards of offense, creating 4 turnovers on defense in route to stomping a mudhole in our opponent by 50 points in the games we DO win.

We could win every game this season and people will STILL find ways to complain about the most ridiculous things and still find a way to complain about how we gave up 478 yards to Washington in game 1 or didn't put up 400 yards on Vandy and failed to have a "big play" on offense.

We're 2-0 and ranked #7/#9. Save all the moaning and complaining for the games we lose (and this is the SEC...where even the national champions the past 3 seasons didn't go undefeated).

Arizonafan, you can't take the people here at face value. This is a great group of sports fanatics, however. Sometime after Saban left, and we were searching for a coach, is when this board turned to where you can't really say anything that could even be marginally considered bad-mouthing. I still decided to join after reading the forum for about a year or so before Saban jetted. I think that if you would have introduced yourself instead of just jumping in with a statement/post like you did, things may have been a bit better. I've been here for YEARS and people still jump on my ass.

Not to defend those types of posters, but when you have the coaching, talent, fanbase and facilities that LSU does, sometimes it makes you stop and wonder why LSU seems to struggle at times -- especially with teams that should be dominated. Sure there have been a few seasons in the last decade where LSU has completely dominated, but for the most part LSU has won "ugly." I don't mean anything by it, and I agree with you that winning is all that should matter. Look in 2007, we won a title, but struggled in a lot of games. I don't think that anyone other than an LSU fan (or perhaps an SEC fan) really thought LSU was the best team in the country heading into the title game. A lot of people thought that LSU was lucky. Again, I don't care, just being the devil's advocate.

Why would anyone expect a team to peak by game 2?
