can be next year. any qb of a top team is. gotta back it up with wins and stats, though. flynn wouldve been had his td/int ratio been better--especially if LSU went undefeated.
I definitely believe he can and it will be under the radar. the kid can play he just has to hone his skills and become very very disciplined. He has the goods. Hopefully he works out like hell and gets his mind right for next season. He could do himself a favor this summer and watch tons of film of different quarterbacks and really study the defense.:LSU231: :geaux:
Sure he could, Tiga. Heck. If he matures enough and develops and hones his decision-making skills he could be on the '08 watch like Tebow.
I don't believe he will be on the list to begin the season. He could very well play himself there. Assumes, of course, as alluded to above he dedicates himself to the game and handles himself well outside of football.
RP's next 2 years can be life changing for him if he can make the correct decisions off the field. He has the best coach he could possibly have that is committed to helping him be successful in life through playing football at LSU. At the start of this season there were a lot question marks about this team. Glenn Dorsey was our big fish that allowed us to have our #2 ranking. Our biggest question mark was at QB. Next year we loose a lot to graduation. But we have guys that have played this year that should be ready to step up. The QB position will not be a question mark. Of course the press will wonder if RP can stay out of trouble. The other thing that RP has is the "IT" factor. His high confidence level combined with talent is special and is perfect for next years challenging schedule. If RP can build on this years experience in next years spring training he should be Heisman worthy next year. The key will be upsetting Florida on the road against Hesiman candidate Tebow to remain undefeated. If we win the West and SEC Championship in an obvious rebuilding year this will boast Perriloux's chances. He has the intelligence and enough experience now in playing college football. It's how much he can mature off the field to make the correct life decisions. RP obviously made the right decision to play for LSU.
Hype has everything to do with every award. You have to have the skills AND the promotion. Heck, we (LSU) benefited from hype twice in the last week- getting in the "Ship" and Dorsey's receiving the Nagurski Trophy. Think those weren't helped with "Hype"?
Well considering CFN.com has him listed as #8 on next years Heisman Watch list for next season, I don't see why he couldn't be going into 2009!!! http://cfn.scout.com/2/708450.html
DAM! And I was reluctant to post the thread.....seriously. I kinda expected some "We haven't seen enough of him yet to say that", etc. Go figure.
