The OC situation was a total first fuck of deception. A lot of 'inoperative statements' now come out of South Stadium Drive. The 'Tell the fans anything. They're dumb asses' mode is in full gear.
Who has nevered lied at a job interview. Did Les Miles tell Skip Bertman about his offense? Oeaux wanted Lane Kiffin and thought he could get him. When that fell through he had to convince Alleva that he could get a "name" OC or he would have never gotten the job. You can't do a good job if you don't get the job. What did Miles say about his plans for the offense at his job interview?
To be fair, his offense wasn't ultra conservative until Jarrett Lee was forced into action before he was ready and turned into a pick/6 machine.
I like that Brennan seems like he's going to compete... http://www.theadvocate.com/baton_rouge/sports/lsu/article_9d67b3ba-629a-11e8-a0e8-0b2ca07ef181.html
I heard the interview. The kid's a gamer. My feeling is that McMillan is out of here as soon as he graduates this summer. That leaves LSU with 3 QB's IF Narcisse can be convinced to stay. If Burrow wins the starting job do you redshirt Brennan and make Narcisse the backup? That might be what it takes to get him to stay here. But would Brennan go along with it? What happens to him if for some reason Narcisse really develops and has the inside track? Good for the Tigers but still puts Brennan in a position where he would have already burned his redshirt year and would have to sit out a year if he transfers unless he had already graduated. Would still leave him with only one year of eligibility. Yet if he isn't the starter it would benefit him to spend a year learning and growing into his body. But what if Narcisse is really good and Burrow ends up staying for 2 seasons? What happens if we sign one of the 2018 or 2019 5 star QB's that have committed or at least put LSU high on their list? Could this be the beginning of LSU becoming QBU?
Idk... That's a lot of what if's... I'm just glad his first thought wasn't transfer... Fight for the job... Best player plays...
Picked up a QB commit for the 2020 class yesterday. T.J. Finley from Ponchatoula. Has offers from Bama, Auburn and Georgia, among others. Big kid - 6'6, 230, and from a coach (Hank Tierney) with a good rep. No game tape on him that I've seen yet, just some camp footage. 247 has him as a 3-star and the #9 pro-style QB in the country. Let's see how he develops.
And we have a couple of highly touted WRs committed from Bama and TN already. They must like what E is selling. I recall very much enjoying Eric Zeier at UGA under E.
