ha ha at this point that may be a stretch as well. I was thinking more along the lines of screw the dodgers and bring his butt back home to Tiger Stadium. If he hasn't been paid then he hasn't "technically" gone pro right?:D

Ahh I got you. Football wise it doesn't matter if he received the money or not since it's from pro baseball. He could still play football at LSU either way as he is not pro in football. Whether he could play LSU baseball would be the question. Technically he did sign a pro contract but never received any compensation. Not sure how that would work. I guess he could claim breach of contract by the Dodgers and have it voided. But he would have to be willing to give up his claim to the 3.4 mil.

I believe he coulld play here or anywhere if he quits baseball for football. Remember Jamie Howard did. Also I believe it is LSU's rule that you can't do both at the same time. I vaguely remeber talk of players doing both at other schools. Problem with Mett is that the Dodgers would not let him play FB with the big bonus for fear of injury.

I believe there is an SEC rule about playing pro baseball and college football at the same time. Some may remember Ricky Williams played pro baseball while playing football at Texas. I think the SEC did away with that a few years ago.

First I am talking about PRO baseball not LSU. The point I made (though not well apparently) is that there are 2 reasons Z Lee couldn't play pro BB & LSU football. First was while other schools allow it LSU (and maybe the SEC) don't. I have seen stories about footballers in college also playing minor league BB.

Second point is that after investing $$ in Z Lee the Dodgers wouldn't let him play FB for fear of injury.

Final point is that if he gave up pro BB he could come and play FB at LSU as did Jamie Howard (hopefully with better results).

    Get it now?
