I've defended him for a long time and ultimately I think he's a good man. However, I think a lot of people are good but that doesn't qualify them to be the head coach for LSU. I think the game has passed him by and his best days are behind him. I understand attrition and growing young players but this far of a drop off is ridiculous, the mighty have fallen, we are awful. Plain and simple, if you can't open your eyes and see what's happening on the field you are blind, I call it like it is and it's time for some new blood with progressive thinking being our head coach.........I'm not sure who, but it's time to start looking. I'm great for for having Miles and will still applaud him when he's in Tiger Stadium, however his time has passed. Done with this season
If we really wanted him I bet LSU could pull David Shaw from Standford, and he plays our kind of football, but actually develops players. The lure of SEC football would be too much for him to say no.
We look awful on both sides of the ball. If we're really hanging out hat on 2016, we are no longer elite. So be it, I guess.
This You know it's interesting some one was asking me today does anyone else still run the "power I" other than us? Are we stuck in the past or what? Then you always have the run almost every play of the game, makes us very predictable.
David Shaw, Gary Patterson, Art Briles, promote Cam, etc. I think of many good fits for LSU. With the talent on hand and instate we would easily get a damn good coach. Either way, Miles' best days are past him here at LSU. I appreciate what he has done for LSU and his love for the school.
But some here have Les' cod so far down their throat that there just isn't anyone that could ever win at LSU besides this fool. What a god damned joke. Its insulting and I'm sorry @LSUDad but you are the leader of that bunch. I respect what you bring to this forum but miles is a fucking idiot. I don't think the same about you but your blind loyalty to him raises cause for concern. To think that there aren't any other coaches that could win with this talent is just absurd.
The club is getting bigger..I've got one leg over the fence as well. What bothers me is the complete collapse is such a short time. Yes we are young in places but in critical (OL, LB & DB) not so much. The lack of organization and focus is telling. Too few play with the passion needed to win. They look like Vanderbilt for Christ's sake!!! It takes me back to the Mike Archer regime...there talent was poorly used and recruits miss evaluated so that the team collapsed. I'm sure Les, Cam & Chief want to do well and win but they are all in their late 50's and have been in the game forever. I mentioned in a much earlier post after we played Wisconsin so poorly that there comes a time in every long term coaches tenure that no matter how successful you get stale. It takes a special talent to recognize it and change. I pointed out Bear Bryant who did after 1970 and Cholly Mac who didn't. Les has seemed stale since 2011 at least and needs to look deep into his soul and find the passion that drove him when he was first here. Maybe he needs fresh and young blood to push him forward to new heights. If he can't or won't we need to find someone else. He has this year and if he doesn't bring LSU back to contend in 2015 we need to find a new path.
