Could it be the players?

Way too simple. There are a ton of factors. Talent is the big one, schedule, institutional support, fan support, recruiting, and pure luck.

    Both are at fault.

The coaching has been slacking for three years now. The play calling is atrocious. LSU is just way too damn predictable. I dont care how your players are performing, you cant be that predictable. If LSU goes down the field more against Auburn they would be unbeaten right now. The time management is a joke.

The players havent played well. The WRs are mediocre. Sure there is a ton of big play potential but as a whole Toliver, Randle, and Shepard drop WAY too many passes. The OL couldnt sustain blocks against ULM. They have been inconsistent all year. Far too many penalties as well. The QBs have been up and down as well. The RBs have done an excellent job when given holes.

The only negative about the D is they dont tackle well, needing to swarm. Overall the D is as good as just about any out there. I love our D.

Exactly. How come Matt Flynn was a stud his first year in this system, and Lee and Jefferson can't grasp it in year 3 for JJ and 4 for Lee? It's both.

The QBs havent "got it," nor have the played well consistently. I give you that. Still in all, coaches have to put players in the right situations. Our coaches havent done that. Also, you must attempt to throw down the field to create a more honest D. You cant expect to run when the whole D is playing the line because they know all passes wont go further than 5 yards. So its clearly on BOTH coaches and players. Not to mention the very poor play from the recievers.

It's a combination of things. Bad play calling, poor execution, poor player development and not adjusting the offense to fit the players you have. Although the players play a major part in execution and development, it's up to the coaching staff to push them up the mountain. GC is the leader of the offense. For the 3rd straight season that offense has been pitiful. GC isn't the only problem but he is the captain of the ship. His ship sank 3 years ago, time for him to sink with it. JMO

If the d can get up for every game why can't the o? The players are in the same locker room, they practice on the same field and they all run on the field together but there is 2 diffrent teams sometimes. The d looks sharp and ready to play and the o looks confused and flat most of the time. We had a real total team twice this year for fl and al. If we played au like we played al we would have won. I don't understand why there is such a diffrence between these two teams-offense and defense

Yeah, I am sure that was the problem everywhere else Crowton has been. Or the excuse.

Sorry, Crowton even brought in his own QB, epic fail.

I'm not saying experience alone is all it takes. We do have a wealth of knowledge at the QB,WR, and Oline to teach these guys how to execute a drive. I am in no means trying to cover for crowton but even if he sucks at teaching qb's he's got Ensminger, and others to help him develop these guys. It's got to be more to our problems.:geaux:
We might not be as talented as we think!

I watched the ULM game on ESPN380.com .... and it is painfully obvious that we have some deficits in consistency at WR. Granted, the passes aren't always great, but they are catchable, ... but they get dropped. I seriously don't know how TT expects to land a draft when he drops so many balls that hit his hands.

RR's miss against AU contributed to that loss, along with a plethora of other drops.
