OK. the main concerns for the upcoming season are linebackers, which I'm not too worried about, QB which is a concern and cornerbacks. IMO cornerback play will determine what kind of season LSU has. From the Spring game clippings it looks like Jai Eugene and Chris Hawkins were running with the 1s while Phelon Jones and Ron Brooks were the 2s. Nothing I've seen from Jai Eugene gives me too much confidence in him but Hawkins looks OK.
I'm of the opinion that pretty soon into the season if not sooner the CB's will be Jones and Hawkins. Anybody agree. Disagree. If so why. Did anyone see the Spring game?

You got all the major concerns correct. Eugene played a little last year, and he usually was getting beat by my recollection. I don't think he was beat physically, it looked like he was out of position, or confused to what he was supposed to be doing. Coaching can improve that, so to me, he was just inexperienced. But from what I saw, you can't project him as an all american in 2 years.

Patrick Johnson, anybody? Best corner coming out of high school last year arrives in Tiger Town pretty soon. 6' 1", 200 lbs, speed and good technique, great work ethic according to the recruiting rags.

Does anybody beside me think Chad Jones will be a strong candidate for all american at safety in 2 years? I was impressed with him from the first time I saw him against Miss St. last season.

Chad Jones is the best all around athlete on the team IMO and will be an All American if he stays for his senior year.
