Pasted this exchange between Scott Long and a guy at Dandy Don. Kind of sums up best where I think we are as a coaching staff and team. From Niles: Scott, I don’t think I’ve ever written in after a game. Like everyone else, I’m very disappointed. However, the more I have thought about it and compare the two games against Miss St and Auburn to last year’s games against the same opponents, I see that we have improved. We beat the team that set an SEC passing record on us last year and we were leading the majority of the game against an Auburn team that beat us 48-11. Is the team where we want them to be? No. But they appear to be a better team than last year. Hopefully they continue to improve. My Response: You make a good point, Niles, and it’s one that needs to be said. LSU is indeed a better team than last year, and they’ve shown some improvement throughout this season, particularly on defense. But the simple truth is you have to be able to run the ball in this conference, at least enough to not be completely one dimensional. We aren’t seeing any improvement in that area from week to week which is why most fans feel uneasy about the rest of the season. That, and the five games next up on the schedule — Kentucky, Florida, Ole Miss, Alabama and Arkansas. Further improvement will need to come quick to navigate that treacherous stretch. Whether it does or not, I’m going to continue to support this team and staff and encourage others to do the same. #ForeverLSU
Still fuming two days later. No way we should have lost to Auburn on Saturday. This team has a long way to go.
You don't agree we are a better team than last year after seeing this post? If so it's rather extremely high unreasonable expectations from you that is the problem. May I remind you the poster at Dandy Don is correct. We did beat the team that set an offensive record against us last year and that just beat ranked A&M. We also did improve drastically against Auburn who beat us 48-11 us last year. As Jack Webb used to say "just the facts mam just the facts". I too think we should have beat Auburn but the history of this game is ALWAYS extremely close games. Kentucky Kentucky this is the game.
I am telling you Nix was on speed and bath salts second half last week. Kentucky will go down to our Tigers this weekend. I hear speed and bath salts are not given to their QB there.
I don’t believe that’s what he is saying. Being better than last year is not good enough, not when you recruit at the level of Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State. Beating Moo U by 3 and losing to Auburn at home and then hanging your hat on moral victories is a far cry from LSU standards. That’s some Aggie shit if I’ve ever seen it.
Nix sure did look like he was on something. That's the only logical explanation as to how our defense couldn't tackle that SOB. I think we need an investigation.
