I saw you were looking for when fans discussed this. That is a thread topic on any SEC board where you would see discussion on the subject.
I was referencing your quote about seeing no discussion of the UF stuff as if like it was never big news. Not sure if they have won it but many thought that it should be renamed the Urban cup after all those arrest.
Tiger_fan Hopefully, I can keep this respectful. You don't seem like a bad person, but your post is a bit flawed. 1) graduation rates aren't much of a counter-argument for ESPN or anyone to make, in the sense that I could argue LSU is producing smarter criminals. 2) Jeremy Hill has been arrested twice, not once. 3) Jordan Jefferson's younger brother -- not enrolled at LSU yet -- was arrested for allegedly beating down a cop. 4) Tyrann Mathieu, while not officially on the team, was arrested with three other recent LSU players allegedly with enough weed to keep everyone at Bad Boy Records high for years. 5) Is Tharold Simon still an LSU student? Had those arrests been included on the count, LSU would have been in that Auburn-Georgia range. Still, that isn't my point. My point is as a fan, I have to come to grips that I cheer for criminals. And when they get arrested, I have to eat crap. I can't argue who's morally better. It's a losing argument. In my opinion, LSU has upped its pursuit of jockwipes to stay competitive with the likes of Alabama and Auburn. And we all know how safe it is to attend those schools now. Don't you think?
Jeremy Hill wasn't at LSU the first time he was arrested. Jordan Jefferson's brother wasn't yet on campus when he was arrested (many witnesses say he was wrongfully arrested). Tyrann Mathieu wasn't on the team when he was arrested. Tharold Simon was no longer a tiger when he was arrested. Your post is much much more flawed than Tiger_fan 's.
It's times like this that I miss Martin..........makes me feel like the ugly band chick who ate alone in the cafeteria with the obvious gay kid in H.S. it was our little marriage.....I know you are out there Martin, I see you!
You could switch your fandom to Harvard or Yale, but then you'd just be cheering for a bunch of over priviledged coke heads who can afford better lawyers to keep it mums the word, with zero athletic ability. In the grand scheme of things LSU doesn't have anywhere near the degree of thuggish players that rots the SEC and Div I CFB. We run a clean program as seen by Miles removing high profile players from the team for repetitive team violations, and we rank among the Vandys in terms of graduation rate. LSUs athletic department has a higher rate of graduation among its athletes than that of the regular LSU student body. And yet we're almost always in the NC discussion. Sounds to me like LSU is fine.
